About us

IMPOWER is the country’s largest independent management consultancy focussed exclusively on helping our public sector clients improve services for their local communities. IMPOWER helps public service leaders produce lasting, positive change in complex systems. We exist because public services can be – and should be – improved. For us, improving public services is fundamentally about improving the lives of citizens. We have consistently demonstrated that performance can be improved and that this improved performance can be sustained, citizens’ lives made noticeably better and public services left more resilient to manage future challenges.

IMPOWER is ambitious and growing. We are seeking colleagues who are ready for challenge, growth and opportunity over the coming years as we build the blueprint for better public services..

About the role:

  • Marketing and communications: You will also own a set of wider marketing responsibilities. Exact work will depend on the candidate’s strengths and skills and ongoing business requirements. It is likely to include leading on individual campaigns, developing IMPOWER’s visual and narrative identity and shaping the presentation of IMPOWER’s employer value proposition.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a range of marketing skills and is an exciting role for someone proactive, organised, detail-oriented, creative, and passionate about demonstrating IMPOWER’s public impact.

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field.

  • Experience of marketing tools: CRM (ideally Dynamics), WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office.

  • CIM/IDM qualifications in marketing, communications, PR, media or related fields.

You are also:

  • A team player with a proactive and positive approach who enjoys problem solving.

  • Someone with strong stakeholder skills, able to advise senior colleagues.

  • Someone who thrives in a varied and evolving role.

About the responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

Event Management

External

  • Ensure events align with IMPOWER’s sales strategy and growth plan.

  • Act as project lead for major events and conferences from a sponsorship and exhibition lens, including stand concept development and design, liaising with stand builders and suppliers, and end-to-end coordination.

  • Work with internal senior stakeholders to create compelling speaking sessions and thought leadership opportunities, to maximise the value and impact of IMPOWER’s event presence.

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure value for money and prompt sourcing of materials and act as point of contact for key partnerships.

  • Ensure that all IMPOWER attendees are clear on and execute required actions before, during and after events. Drive a process of continuous learning to improve execution and quality.

Wider marketing and communications activity
