Who We’re Looking For We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on the design, analysis, and delivery of mechanical systems for tailings storage facilities (TSFs), slurry pipelines, and mine infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in piping systems, pressure vessels, and hydraulic design, with strong experience in EPC project execution across mining, oil & gas, and industrial sectors. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates: Passion – for meaningful work, helping clients, and developing strong technical teams Integrity – trust, respect, accountability, and professionalism Excellence – delivering robust, defensible, risk‑informed engineering solutions What You Will Do Lead mechanical design for tailings pipelines, pump stations, and slurry transfer systems. Perform hydraulic calculations, stress analysis, and support planning for process piping. Design and review pressure vessels, storage tanks, and custom spool configurations. Complete steady‑state pipeline hydraulic design using Excel or software such as AFT Fathom and Bentley Hammer. Perform surge analysis using tools such as Bentley Hammer or AFT Impulse. Perform pipeline peripheral designs related to thrust, thermal expansion, valve and flow meter stations and service crossings What You Bring Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical). NER / CPEng / RPEQ certification. 10–15 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within mining and tailings infrastructure. Background in slurry pipeline design or strong interest in developing this expertise. Experience preparing CAPEX and OPEX estimates. Tailings pipeline design and hydraulic modelling. Pressure vessel and tank design. CFD modelling for wear prediction and slurry optimisation. Familiarity with slurry pump systems (e.g., Warman) and interstage piping. Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
