Senior Member of Technical Staff, Compiler

About the Role

Join a clinical decision support team building a compiler that turns healthcare standards into executable, verifiable decision logic. This research-focused role combines frontier-model experimentation with production engineering to make clinical recommendations traceable and reliable.

What You'll Do

• Build and improve pipelines that parse clinical documents and transform standards into executable modules.

• Design and refine a target syntax for representing clinical guideline logic.

• Experiment with open and closed models, fine-tuning, and constrained decoding.

• Develop benchmarks, datasets, metrics, and adversarial cases for clinical fidelity, logical completeness, and recommendation correctness.

• Analyze model failures and turn them into hypotheses, experiments, and improvements to the production compiler.

• Create deterministic validators using static analysis, constraint solving, or formal methods to surface ambiguity, contradiction, and missing source evidence.

• Work closely with clinicians and the product team to validate system behavior.

What We're Looking For

• 3 or more years of relevant experience, with a background in clinical AI or machine learning research.

• Prior experience working at or directly with a frontier AI or machine learning lab.

• Strong skills in Python, PyTorch, Transformers, and large language models.

• Experience with static analysis, SMT or SAT solvers, or formal methods.

• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7 v2.

• Interest in building inspectable clinical decision systems and taking research into production.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $250,000 to $400,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Remote, with the primary location in Canada. Candidates may also be based remotely in the United States.
