We are seeking an enthusiastic and commercial Senior Merchandiser who will grow with the company and add value to our fast growing team. This person will report into the Merchandise Manager and will be responsible for delivering category performance objectives, in line with the seasonal and global growth strategy. Accountable for category online and retail inventory and performance KPIs, delivering stock to fulfil category budgets, and trading the online platforms and retail stores in the most profitable way.

Key Responsibilities

Planning
  • Drives the seasonal strategy ensuring Category KPIs are in line with the brand strategy
  • Uses analysis to quantify risks and opportunities.
  • Plans and buys a balanced range in line with budget, agreed architecture; phased, and meeting channel/region requirements
  • Plans buys in line with promotional events, maximising opportunities
  • Communicates seasonal plans for agreement at range sign offs

Trading
  • Actively trades Category in order to maximise sales, profit and achieve optimum availability throughout the season, identifying promotional and channel/regional requirements
  • Considers product pricing opportunities and ensures decisions reflect KPIs.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Category WSSI, communicating forecasts, risks and additional requirements
  • Identifies and communicates OTB requirements
  • Manages seasonal recode and terminal stock sign off process

Managing Supply Chain & Critical Path
  • Works closely and effectively with Buying and suppliers to ensure key critical path milestones are hit, achieving seasonal and promotional event launches
  • Phases intake in line with production requirement, considering impact on supply chain and regions

Manages Self and Others
  • Leads by example, is a role model within Merchandising and MW team
  • Develops, coaches and supports team members to fulfil their potential

Effective Communication
  • Communicates accurately and clearly with the relevant amount of information.
  • Develops effective relationships with key stakeholders.

We would like to meet someone who is

  • Who has experience at Merchandiser level
  • Merchandising experience within a retail environment, with a good understanding of commercial trading and the wider retail landscape.
  • Strong commercial and numerical skills, with the ability to analyse sales, stock and performance data and turn insights into actions.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and critical trading activities.
  • Strong Excel and systems capability, with experience using planning and reporting tools such as WSSI, range plans and reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of shop operations and/or web operations, with an understanding of how merchandising decisions impact stores and online performance.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across forecasts, reporting, planning and stock management.
  • Confident communicator and collaborative team player, able to work effectively with buying, retail, ecommerce and wider commercial teams.
  • Commercially focused and analytical, with the ability to identify opportunities, manage risks and make informed recommendations.
  • Professional and credible in approach, representing the business positively and maintaining high standards at all times.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and respond effectively to changing priorities.
