Hiring Process
You will act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Purview (data governance, information protection, and compliance), advising clients, shaping solutions, and implementing them in real-world environments. This position suits experienced consultants who enjoy varied work across different clients and industries.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview across its core workloads: Data Governance (Data Map, Catalog, Classification, Lineage, DSPM), Information Protection (sensitivity labels, MIP, DLP), and Compliance solutions (Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, Records Management, Audit, Communication Compliance)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive)
- Solid knowledge of Azure fundamentals (Entra ID, subscriptions, resource management)
- Experience integrating Purview with Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid/on-premises data sources
- Working knowledge of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and regulatory drivers (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001)
- Proficiency with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API for automation and administration
- Experience in client-facing consulting roles — leading workshops, gathering requirements, and presenting solutions
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and deliver without day-to-day supervision
- Valid Microsoft certifications, e.g. SC-400 (Information Protection Administrator) or equivalent demonstrable experience
Pre-sales:
- Support sales teams in qualifying opportunities and advising on solution fit
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts
- Contribute technical content to RFP/RFI responses and proposals
- Conduct discovery sessions and assessments of client environments
- Define technical scope, architecture, and implementation approach
- Produce effort estimates, statements of work, and technical solution descriptions
- Design, implement, and configure Microsoft Purview solutions according to agreed scope
- Perform migrations, integrations, and troubleshoot technical issues
- Document delivered solutions and provide knowledge transfer and training to client teams
- Support handover, hypercare, and post-delivery reviews
Nice to have
- Additional certifications: SC-100, AZ-500, SC-200, CIPP (privacy law), or CISSP
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, or Azure security stack
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Purview data governance for big data sources
- Experience with third-party governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Alation)
- Knowledge of industry-specific compliance regimes (HIPAA, SOX, PCI DSS)
- Strong visualization and storytelling skills for executive-level presentations
- Additional languages
Working conditions
- Engagement model: Part-time — ongoing collaboration across client projects and opportunities, without the demands of a full-time role
- Location: Fully remote
- Schedule: Flexible hours coordinated around project needs; occasional availability for client meetings in specific time zones
- Workload: Part-time with natural variation — busier around project delivery and pre-sales deadlines, quieter periods in between
