Position Description

We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Purview SME / Architect to support the implementation of an enterprise data governance platform for a Canadian financial services organization based on west coast of Canada.

This is a hands-on delivery role for an experienced practitioner who has successfully implemented Microsoft Purview in complex enterprise environments. The successful candidate will lead platform configuration, metadata management, data lineage, information governance, and operational enablement activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Deploy and secure Microsoft Purview across production and non-production environments
• Configure data source onboarding, scanning, metadata collection, and sensitive data classification
• Implement business glossaries, data products, stewardship models, and governance domains
• Develop custom lineage solutions for platforms where native Microsoft Purview lineage is unavailable or incomplete
• Integrate metadata and lineage from Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and dbt
• Implement Microsoft 365 retention labels, records management, and information lifecycle controls
• Deliver automation, infrastructure-as-code, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer

Workplace: This is a remote working role open to candidates based in LATAM willing to support Pacific Timezone working hours

Must Have Skills:

• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise data platform, metadata management, or data governance technology solutions
• 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Purview experience
• Experience with Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog, Data Map, classification, glossary, and governance capabilities
• Experience using Microsoft Purview REST APIs and implementing custom lineage solutions
• Experience integrating metadata and lineage from Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and dbt
• Experience with Azure Private Endpoints, Key Vault, Managed Identity, Entra ID, and hub-and-spoke networking
• Experience implementing retention labels, adaptive scopes, and Records Management
• Experience delivering Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and production-ready operational documentation

Preferred Skills:

• Power BI and Azure Data Factory lineage experience
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, PIPEDA, FINTRAC, PCMLTFA, or OSFI-related requirements
• Experience supporting audit, risk, compliance, or governance stakeholders
