At Medneo UK, we are looking for experienced Cardiac CT Radiographers who want to develop into fully proficient, radiographer-led cardiac CT practitioners. You will join us with strong general CT skills and previous exposure to cardiac CT. In return, we will provide a structured, bespoke training programme designed to give you the clinical knowledge, technical expertise and confidence to independently manage the cardiac CT pathway, from assessing and preparing the patient through to medicines administration, image acquisition (image Xact post processing) and post-procedure care. Following successful completion of the programme and formal competency sign-off, you will receive an additional salary uplift in recognition of your enhanced cardiac CT responsibilities. As a Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer, you will initially work alongside experienced cardiac CT practitioners while completing your structured development programme. Once fully trained and signed off, you will be able to independently deliver a safe, effective and patient-focused radiographer-led cardiac CT service. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering high-quality general and cardiac CT imaging across Medneo’s nationwide mobile services Assessing patients’ suitability for cardiac CT and identifying clinical risks or contraindications Reviewing heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history and relevant medication Preparing patients and explaining the procedure, including medicines and contrast administration Safely administering glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and beta-blockers under the appropriate PGD or agreed clinical protocol Undertaking intravenous cannulation and administering contrast media safely Recognising and managing adverse reactions, including contrast reactions and complications associated with cardiac medicines Selecting and adapting cardiac CT protocols according to the patient’s clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm and body habitus Performing coronary artery calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography acquisition Perform adapted gated studies, such as graft studies and Tavi's Using prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques, ensuring the correct bespoke padding is applied to CTCA's & gated studies Optimising image quality while minimising radiation dose in accordance with IR(ME)R requirements Monitoring patients throughout the pathway and providing appropriate post-procedure observations and aftercare Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and escalating concerns appropriately Supporting and mentoring other Radiographers as they develop their cardiac CT competencies Travelling nationally and adapting confidently to different clinical locations and working environments Our Bespoke Cardiac CT Training Programme We will provide a structured programme combining supervised clinical practice, theoretical learning, competency assessment and formal sign-off. The programme will develop your knowledge and practical skills in: Cardiac anatomy, physiology and common cardiac conditions Patient preparation, assessment, clinical history and suitability for cardiac CT ECG interpretation and recognition of common rhythms and arrhythmias Heart-rate control and optimisation before scanning Safe administration of GTN and beta-blockers Indications, contraindications, side effects and escalation requirements for cardiac medicines Contrast administration, reaction management and patient safety Cardiac CT acquisition techniques, including ECG gating, padding and bolus timing Calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography protocols Image-quality assessment, image Xact post processing, artefact recognition and troubleshooting Radiation-dose optimisation Emergency response and management of deteriorating patients Radiographer-led decision-making, documentation and professional accountability Once you have completed the training and demonstrated the required level of clinical proficiency, you will be formally signed off to deliver the radiographer-led cardiac CT pathway and receive the associated salary uplift. What We Need From You We are looking for an experienced Cardiac CT Radiographer who is ready to progress into advanced cardiac practice. You will need: HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer A minimum of two years’ post-registration CT experience Experience working with cardiac CT patients and supporting cardiac CT examinations Strong knowledge of CT scanning principles, contrast administration and radiation safety Experience with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a clear understanding of cardiac CT workflows Competence in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency-response training Confidence in assessing patients and recognising when clinical escalation is required Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and take professional responsibility for clinical decisions A commitment to completing the full cardiac CT training and competency programme Willingness to travel extensively and work across different locations nationwide A full UK driving licence Experience using Canon CT systems would be advantageous, although training can be provided. Previous experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools would also be beneficial.
