About the Role

We are building a new generation of tracking services for elite and semi-professional sport, bringing powerful technology to an area of sport that has never had access to it before.

As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will take ownership of the mobile application that sits at the heart of the user experience. This is the part of the product people actually interact with -capturing data, coordinating devices, managing uploads and guiding users through workflows that need to work reliably in challenging real-world environments.

Working within a small, highly collaborative cross-functional team, you will have significant autonomy to design, architect and build solutions across both iOS and Android. You will work closely with backend, computer vision and product teams to deliver products used by athletes, coaches and teams around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design, architecture and implementation of our mobile application across iOS and Android

• Build and maintain the capture layer, including camera control, session management, recording and local storage

• Design and implement coordination between multiple devices operating as a single system

• Build resilient media and data transfer capabilities that perform effectively across unreliable and intermittent network connections

• Integrate native components developed by our computer vision teams into the mobile application

• Manage application releases across all environments, including app store submissions, testing tracks and release processes

• Implement monitoring, crash reporting and observability capabilities to support products operating in the field

• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, testable and aligned with engineering best practices

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend and Computer Vision teams to deliver high-quality solutions

• Contribute to planning, estimation and delivery activities across the squad

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Utilise AI-assisted and AI-augmented development practices as part of the team's engineering approach

• Work with shared design systems and frontend components to create a consistent experience across web and mobile platforms

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of commercial experience developing mobile applications

• Experience delivering and maintaining applications across the full software lifecycle, from concept through to production release

• Demonstrable experience shipping applications to the App Store and/or Google Play Store

• Strong experience with cross-platform mobile development technologies such as React Native, Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform

• Strong React and TypeScript experience

• Experience designing and architecting mobile applications

• Strong understanding of native iOS and Android development using Swift and Kotlin

• Experience integrating native functionality into cross-platform applications

• Experience working with mobile camera functionality, media capture and local storage

• Experience building applications that operate reliably across variable network conditions

• Experience integrating with backend services and APIs

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated mobile release processes

• Experience writing unit and integration tests

• Experience with Git-based development workflows and code review practices

• Familiarity with Jira or similar task management tools

• Experience working with design systems and shared component libraries

• Understanding of real-time or latency-sensitive systems

• Experience integrating computer vision or machine learning components into mobile applications

• Experience coordinating multiple devices within a single workflow or distributed system
