Senior Mobile Software Engineer

About the Role

Join a consumer fintech engineering team building financial tools for immigrants in the United States. As the senior mobile engineer, you will take ownership of mobile development and help shape a polished product experience across iOS and Android.

What You'll Do

• Own and advance the mobile engineering function, working independently while collaborating with engineering leadership.

• Build and ship React Native features for iOS and Android in partnership with Product, Design, and Backend teams.

• Define mobile architecture, reusable components, tooling, and processes that support fast, reliable development.

• Work cross-functionally, manage stakeholders, and communicate technical ideas that support product and business goals.

What We're Looking For

• Four to nine years of software engineering experience, including building and maintaining production React Native apps on both iOS and Android.

• Experience with React Native, TypeScript, and preferably Expo or GraphQL.

• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture, component design, state management, performance, testing, and accessibility.

• Experience implementing loading, empty, error, disabled, keyboard, accessibility, and edge states.

• Ability to build reusable components and design systems while maintaining visual fidelity.

• Experience with transitions, gestures, micro-interactions, and animations, such as with Reanimated or Gesture Handler.

• Background building consumer mobile products where user experience and visual polish matter, with close collaboration across Product and Design.

• Fintech experience, including payments, identity verification, or authentication flows, is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range is $180,000 to $230,000, with equity. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Hybrid in New York, New York, with an expectation of three to four days per week in the office. Candidates elsewhere in the United States may work remotely and travel as needed.
