Who We Are At Trility Consulting®, we’ve built a strong, remote-work culture where people thrive, grow, and support each other – earning us Great Place to Work® Certification. Headquartered in Central Iowa, we embrace flexible schedules and collaboration across geographically distributed teams serving clients from all corners of the United States and globally. We seek team members with the grit necessary to forge paths where none previously existed, to get back up when circumstances knock them down, to adapt to the changing needs of the client even when it is uncomfortable, and to deliver on our commitments. Candidates must respect and value people, recognize that over-communication is barely good enough, thrive on solving complex problems, have a passion for building teams, and know that delivering what a client actually values is more important than their own predispositions. They understand value proposition, love delivering value, and take pride in learning the expansive and ever-changing business of clients. Candidates are self-motivated and relentlessly working to become more today than they were yesterday. About the Role Trility Consulting is actively seeking a Senior .NET Application Development Consultant who is an expert in their field and a powerhouse on the keyboard. In this role, you'll partner directly with Trility clients to design, build, modernize, and support production software solutions. You'll take clients from "napkin to production" by listening to their challenges with empathy, asking thoughtful questions, evaluating technical options, and using your problem-solving skills to discover the right approach. You'll own technical work from discovery and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support while helping clients build stronger engineering practices along the way. You aren't just a developer for hire. As a Trility consultant, you'll be expected to understand the "why" behind the work, challenge assumptions when appropriate, communicate openly when something isn't working, and help clients arrive at solutions that balance technical excellence with business value. This is a remote W2 or 1099 position. At this time, Trility is only able to hire W2 employees who reside in the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. What You Will Do Partner directly with client teams to understand business challenges, evaluate technical options, and translate requirements into practical software solutions. Design, develop, test, and support production-quality applications using .NET, C#, Angular, and modern full-stack development practices. Contribute to architectural decisions across application design, APIs, event-driven systems, messaging, data synchronization, and user-facing experiences. Take ownership of features and technical work from initial discovery and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Work within existing codebases and architectures, quickly understanding unfamiliar systems and identifying opportunities to improve maintainability, performance, reliability, and scalability. Collaborate with client and Trility engineers through pair programming, mob programming, code reviews, and other collaborative development practices. Help establish and improve engineering practices around automated testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), source control, CI/CD, code review, and safe production delivery. Contribute to cloud-native development practices, including containerization, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Software-Defined Everything (SDx) approaches. Work effectively within modern source code management and review processes using Git, pull requests, and SaaS-based platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Atlassian Bitbucket. Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Adapt quickly to new technologies, frameworks, codebases, and client environments while maintaining a high standard for engineering quality. Share knowledge with client teams and contribute to a collaborative environment where the goal is not simply to deliver software, but to leave the client better equipped to maintain and evolve it. Take ownership of technical decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and confidently recommend solutions based on client needs, technical constraints, and long-term maintainability. What You Bring 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience with strong expertise in .NET and C#, along with the ability and desire to work across evolving technologies and technical environments. Proficiency developing applications using Angular, with a strong understanding of components, services, modules, and related application architecture. Full-stack development experience with a background in event-driven architectures, API development, and building user-facing applications. Experience with WPF is preferred; strong proficiency with XAML or comparable UI frameworks is also valuable. Strong understanding of MVVM principles is preferred, though experience with MVC or similar architectural patterns is also beneficial. Knowledge of NetMQ is a plus, along with familiarity with comparable messaging and data synchronization frameworks. Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing best practices, with a commitment to helping clients ship software confidently. Familiarity with cloud-native development, including containerization, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices. Understanding of how to deliver software safely and efficiently into production through CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and deployment practices. Familiarity with Git and modern source code management and review processes, including pull requests and platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Atlassian Bitbucket. Experience with Software-Defined Everything (SDx) practices in public cloud ecosystems, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Environment as Code (EaC). Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new coding environments, technologies, frameworks, and client-specific systems. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and recommend solutions that balance technical quality with client and business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working effectively in collaborative engineering environments that value knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and team accountability. Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment is preferred. What Success Looks Like Success at Trility means more than delivering working code. You'll be successful in this role if you can: Build trust quickly with client teams and become a valued technical partner. Translate ambiguous business and technical challenges into clear, actionable solutions. Produce clean, maintainable, production-quality software. Make thoughtful technical decisions while understanding and communicating the associated tradeoffs. Work effectively in unfamiliar codebases and technology environments. Help clients improve their engineering practices rather than simply completing assigned development tasks. Communicate proactively, especially when requirements, timelines, or technical challenges change. Leave every engagement with the client more capable, confident, and equipped than when you arrived. How We Put You First Trility’s culture is built upon the journey, character, and work ethic of our team members. We are a team of honorable and professional lifelong learners who work together to solve problems proactively. • Work remotely anywhere in the United States with flexible work hours • Paid time-off, company holidays, and floating holidays • Comprehensive benefits with contributions toward premiums • 401(k) plan • Sponsored and supported learning opportunities Job Requirements • Must reside within the United States • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future • Must be able to pass a background check
