KBR is looking for a Senior Network Administrator.
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and operational reliability of enterprise network infrastructure supporting KBR operations. The role provides advanced technical administration across network, connectivity, security, and related infrastructure platforms, ensuring the availability, performance, and resilience of critical services.
The position requires deep technical knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, the ability to resolve complex operational issues, and the capability to work independently with minimal guidance. The role contributes directly to service stability, operational excellence, and infrastructure modernization initiatives while acting as a technical resource for colleagues within the team.
This role does not include supervisory or people management accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Network Administration
- Administer enterprise network infrastructure, including:
- LAN, WAN, wireless, and data centre networking platforms
- Routing and switching technologies
- Software-defined networking and SD-WAN environments
- Network access control and identity-aware networking services
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure in accordance with operational standards.
- Perform routine lifecycle management activities, including software updates, hardware maintenance, and technology refresh activities.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, configuration standards, and operational records.
Network Security & Connectivity
- Administer and support enterprise network security technologies, including firewalls, VPN services, and secure remote-access solutions.
- Maintain network segmentation, access control, and secure connectivity frameworks.
- Support vulnerability remediation and implementation of network security controls.
- Ensure network services comply with organisational security standards and governance requirements.
Data Centre & Cloud Networking
- Support enterprise data centre networking environments and associated connectivity services.
- Administer load balancing and application delivery platforms.
- Support hybrid cloud and cloud networking services.
- Maintain reliable connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, remote locations, and hosted environments.
- Support network architecture and capacity growth initiatives.
Infrastructure Integration
- Collaborate with server, storage, backup, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure reliable infrastructure operations.
- Support infrastructure services where networking dependencies exist.
- Maintain a working understanding of compute, virtualisation, storage, and application dependencies to support effective troubleshooting and escalation.
- Contribute to infrastructure availability, resilience, and recovery initiatives.
Operational Support
- Monitor network health, availability, performance, and capacity using established operational tools and procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve complex networking and infrastructure incidents.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Participate in major incident investigations and root-cause analysis activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
Recovery, Resilience & Security
- Support network-related disaster recovery and resilience initiatives.
- Participate in infrastructure recovery testing and operational readiness activities.
- Maintain network configurations and controls that support business continuity objectives.
- Ensure network services remain compliant with organisational security and audit requirements.
Collaboration & Technical Contribution
- Work independently on assigned systems and operational activities.
- Collaborate with related IT teams, service providers, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Act as a technical resource and provide guidance to colleagues with less experience.
- Contribute to operational improvements, technical standards, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Support project delivery and technology implementation activities as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise networking environments.
- Experience with routing, switching, network segmentation, and secure connectivity technologies.
- Experience with network access control, identity-aware networking, and enterprise security platforms.
- Experience supporting firewall technologies, VPN solutions, and secure remote access services.
- Experience with load balancing and application delivery technologies.
- Experience supporting cloud networking and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments including Windows, Linux, and virtualisation platforms.
- Familiarity with structured IT operational environments and service management processes.
- Experience troubleshooting complex networking and infrastructure-related issues.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience.
