Senior Network Engineer (Juniper)

Location : Amsterdam, Netherlands

Travel : Hybrid, 2 days/week onsite per week.

Duration: 12 months B2B contract.

Rate: €80 – €87 per hour

The role

We are hiring a Principal Network Engineer for a global enterprise technology leader in Amsterdam. You will be an embedded engineer in a Professional Services team, dedicated to one enterprise customer. You will be their primary technical contact for advanced services and work with them daily.

What you’ll do:

• Act as subject matter expert for data center networking: design, troubleshooting, testing, documentation and automation.
• Lead break/fix support and restore services fast.
• Advise on Junos configuration and network design best practices.
• Review designs for compliance with technology standards.
• Bring engineering leadership and new technology into projects.
• Mentor junior engineers.

What you bring:

• 6+ years in data center routing, switching and network architecture.
• Must be based in Netherlands.
• Hands-on Juniper experience (QFX, PTX, MX, EX).
• Python scripting and test automation.
• Experience testing and certifying Junos / Junos EVO software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in English and the local language.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have: cloud architectures, DevOps, microservices and a security-first mindset.
