Senior Network & Security Automation Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amstelveen, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 8-10 years.

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network & Security Automation Engineer who will design, implement and manage network security solutions, with a strong focus on automation and security-by-design.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize TLS/SSL Traffic Inspection and Advanced Threat Protection.
• Manage Palo Alto NGFW & Panorama, F5 BIG-IP and Cisco infrastructure.
• Work on network segmentation, security policies and secure traffic governance.
• Develop automation using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Git and Infrastructure as Code.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis and lifecycle management.
• Support security incidents, audits, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Work according to DevSecOps, security governance and enterprise security standards.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Network Security Engineer / Security Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Panorama, F5 BIG-IP and Cisco.
• Experience with TLS/SSL inspection and Advanced Threat Protection.
• Strong knowledge of network security, routing & switching, load balancing, proxies and network segmentation.
• Practical experience with Python, Ansible, API integrations, Git and IaC.
• Experience in complex, preferably regulated enterprise environments.
• Certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCIE Security or F5 are a plus.
