About The Role

To support the SCI Award Management Business Partnering teams through key enabling activities, manage information and ensure compliance with systems and processes, while fostering a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and learning.

Your responsibilities

  • The Officer provides support to the Business Partnering teams with information management and compliance with awards systems and processes. This is a highly collaborative role, working daily with stakeholders throughout Save the Children to facilitate a culture of strong operational and program quality. The Officer will support the securing - contracting, managing and closure of funding portfolio awards and sub-awards effectively, in line with the Quality Framework and Donor requirements. The role will support successful award and sub-award lifecycle management at country level including roving support (remote or in person) where feasible.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Save the Children, fostering a culture of operational excellence and high program quality that aligns with organisational values and goals.
  • Champion the Award Management System (AMS), acting as a super user and AMS Champion for the Business Partnering team to promote the effective use of the system and drive continuous improvement.
  • Produce and manage content for the Funding Bulletin, ensuring relevant and compelling data-based insights that highlight key areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support global learning exchanges and capacity building initiatives, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure inclusion, diversity, and equity in all award management activities, aligning with Save the Children’s commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organisation.
  • The Officer will support and manage global learning exchange and capacity building initiatives, provide compelling data-based insights in collaboration with the AM Excellence team, that the Business Partnering team use to target action, support and decision making.

Key requirements

Essential

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex data and operational challenges.
  • Organisational and Detail-Oriented: Good organisational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently; High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with grants management software.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and perform efficiently under pressure.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrates a proactive approach to personal development and staying updated with industry best practices.
  • Foundation of Experience in: Administrative or operational roles, preferably within the NGO sector. Coordination and support of project or programme activities.
  • Experience in: Award or grant management, including budget monitoring and financial reporting. Working with institutional donors such as DFID, USAID, or EU.
  • Proficient Experience in: Implementing award management systems and processes. Supporting compliance and quality assurance within an international NGO setting.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering training/capacity building.
  • Experience providing grants system/AMS support as a champion, upskilling users or representing business needs.

Education and Qualifications

Education: No essential education requirement

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of grant management and donor compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of the financial management, budgeting, and reporting principles relevant to award management.

Desirable

Education:

  • A degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications in project management or grant management are a plus.

  • Work Pattern: Hybrid/Remote with flexible working options available
  • Contract Length: FTC until 31st May 2028
