Senior Oracle DBA – RMAN / Exadata / RAC / Data Guard

Role Description This full-time Senior Oracle DBA – RMAN / Exadata / RAC / Data Guard role is a hybrid position based in the Bucharest Metropolitan Area, with flexibility for work from home (2-3 days/week). The Senior Oracle DBA is responsible for administering and maintaining Oracle databases across production, test, and development environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing RMAN backups and recovery, supporting Exadata environments, administering RAC clusters, and managing Data Guard for disaster recovery and replication. The role involves monitoring database health, optimizing queries and indexes, applying patches and upgrades, and enforcing security policies and compliance standards. The Senior Oracle DBA will collaborate closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams, provide troubleshooting support for complex incidents, and participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle Database Administration and general Database Administration skills, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Hands-on experience with replication technologies such as Data Guard and RAC, including setup, monitoring, failover, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex database issues, root cause analysis, and incident resolution in high-availability environments.
• Solid knowledge of Database Security, including access control, encryption, auditing, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Extensive experience with RMAN backup and recovery strategies, Exadata administration, and optimization for large-scale Oracle environments.
• Comfort working in hybrid setups, collaborating with cross-functional IT teams, and documenting procedures and standards clearly.
• Ability to script and automate routine DBA tasks (e.g., using Bash, PowerShell, or similar), and familiarity with monitoring tools and ITSM platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., OCP, OCM) are an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining reliable, secure, and performant database services.

Budget BRUT: 5000 - 5600 euro
