Position Summary Network Connex is seeking an experienced Senior OSP Engineer / Project Manager to provide engineering and project support for our AT&T LNS program across multiple Midwest markets. The position will primarily support relocation/legal mandate projects in the Indianapolis market, ADE, ASE and Mobility projects in the Cincinnati market, and utility conflict analysis throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. The ideal candidate will have significant outside plant telecommunications engineering experience and the ability to independently manage assigned projects from initial scope review and field investigation through engineering/design, permitting coordination, construction support and project closeout. This position is preferably structured as a part-time role for a seasoned OSP professional who can quickly assume responsibility for assigned AT&T projects with limited day-to-day supervision. Key Responsibilities • Manage engineering activities for AT&T LNS relocation and legal mandate projects, primarily within the Indianapolis market. • Provide OSP engineering and project management support for ADE, ASE and Mobility projects within the Cincinnati market. • Perform utility conflict analysis throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, including review of roadway, municipal, DOT and utility improvement plans against existing AT&T facilities. • Review existing AT&T plant information, field conditions and proposed improvements to identify conflicts and determine appropriate OSP engineering solutions. • Coordinate field investigations and ensure field information is accurately incorporated into engineering records and designs. • Develop and/or coordinate OSP engineering designs for underground and aerial telecommunications facilities. • Coordinate preparation and review of engineering workprints and other required design documentation. • Support permitting, right-of-way, easement and utility coordination requirements associated with assigned projects. • Coordinate with AT&T representatives, internal engineering resources, municipalities, utilities and other project stakeholders. • Provide engineering support and coordination during construction, including resolution of field conditions and design-related issues. • Manage project schedules, engineering budgets, deliverables and overall project status. • Identify scope changes, project risks, schedule impacts and additional engineering requirements requiring escalation or customer authorization. • Maintain accurate project documentation, status information and customer-required records through project completion and closeout. • Utilize applicable AT&T systems, GIS platforms, AutoCAD and other approved engineering/project management tools. Required Qualifications • Extensive experience in OSP telecommunications engineering, design, construction support or project management. • Strong working knowledge of underground and aerial OSP infrastructure. • Knowledge of fiber-optic and copper telecommunications facilities and associated OSP design and construction practices. • Experience reviewing utility, roadway and civil plans and identifying conflicts with existing telecommunications facilities. • Ability to interpret existing facility records, field information and proposed construction plans and develop appropriate engineering solutions. • Experience coordinating field surveys, OSP design, permitting and construction support. • Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS and/or similar OSP engineering and project tracking tools. • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities across multiple markets. • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with customers, utilities, municipalities, contractors and internal resources. Preferred Qualifications • Prior AT&T OSP/LNS engineering experience strongly preferred. • Experience with AT&T relocation/legal mandate projects. • Experience supporting AT&T ADE, ASE and/or Mobility projects. • Familiarity with AT&T engineering standards, systems, processes and project documentation. • Previous OSP engineering experience within Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and/or Wisconsin. • Experience working within a multi-market carrier engineering program. Position Profile This role is intended to strengthen existing AT&T LNS market coverage and provide dependable additional capacity for active and anticipated workload. The successful candidate should be capable of independently driving assigned engineering work while coordinating effectively with the broader Network Connex team and AT&T stakeholders. Part-time availability is preferred; however, the final employment structure may be evaluated based on candidate experience, availability and business needs.
