SENIOR OSS/NMS NETWORK MANAGEMENT ENGINEER

Location: Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City

Employment Type: Six-month contract, renewable for up to 12 months

Level: Senior Engineer

Expected Start Date: October 2026

Compensation: Up to 50M gross/monthly

Our client is a global provider of critical network infrastructure across fixed, mobile, and transport networks. The company combines hardware, software, and services to help telecommunications providers, enterprises, and governments design, deploy, and operate high-performance networks.

The Role

The Senior OSS/NMS System Engineer will deploy, upgrade, integrate, and support network management applications and the underlying system infrastructure. Deployment and upgrades are the primary focus, while the role also covers technical support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident handling, and maintenance.

The client is open to candidates with experience in different telecommunications vendors or OSS/NMS platforms. Previous NetAct experience is an advantage but not mandatory. Candidates should have a strong system/server foundation, practical knowledge of VMware, Linux, and IP networking, and the ability to work independently.

Relevant training will be provided to help the selected candidate develop knowledge of the client’s products, customer network, and architecture. Business travel, on-call support, and after-hours work may be required based on project, upgrade, or incident needs.



Key ResponsibilitiesDeployment and Integration
  • Conduct onsite surveys and install, configure, test, commission, and maintain software applications and related IT infrastructure.
  • Plan and execute OSS/NMS deployments and software upgrades.
  • Perform application and system commissioning and integrate OSS/NMS platforms with related network elements.
  • Verify system interworking, including alarm synchronization, performance data synchronization, and configuration management.
  • Support implementations across physical, VMware, or cloud-based environments.
  • Prepare implementation procedures, upgrade plans, and acceptance test documentation when required.
  • Conduct system testing and validation with customers before handover.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and subcontractors during deployment and integration.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for complex multi-vendor and third-party OSS applications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system, application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
  • Analyze system and application logs, isolate root causes, implement corrective actions, and recommend workarounds.
  • Perform system health checks and preventive maintenance.
  • Handle critical incidents and outages, manage stakeholder communication, and provide root cause analysis.
  • Support trials and initial implementation of new features and technologies.
System and Infrastructure Support
  • Install, configure, and support servers, storage systems, switches, firewalls, operating systems, databases, and virtualization environments.
  • Monitor OSS KPIs, review system performance, and prepare technical and progress reports.
  • Support Linux-based environments, particularly RHEL.
  • Work with VMware environments for bare-metal and cloud applications.
  • Support IP/DCN connectivity and integration between applications and network elements.
  • Work with relational databases and web application servers as required.
Requirements
Must Have
  • Approximately five years of overall experience in telecommunications systems, OSS/NMS, system integration, system/server infrastructure, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience with at least one telecommunications OSS/NMS platform, such as Ericsson ENM or OSS-RC, Huawei U2000 or U2020, ZTE NetNumen, NetAct, NSP/NFM-P, or another equivalent platform.
  • Hands-on experience in system or server installation, commissioning, integration, upgrade, maintenance, or technical support.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux, particularly RHEL.
  • Practical experience with VMware or an equivalent virtualization environment.
  • Understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP, and L2/L3 network concepts.
  • Experience supporting complex multi-vendor or third-party applications deployed to customers.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues, analyze logs, isolate root causes, and implement or recommend solutions.
  • Experience handling incidents or outages and communicating progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of relational database systems such as Oracle.
  • Understanding of web application servers or web-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned technical activities.
  • Good English proficiency for technical documentation, customer communication, and coordination with global teams.
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, customer focus, and ability to learn quickly.


Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience with NetAct or related product variants.
  • Experience with NetAct Advanced Monitor, Self-Organizing Network servers, DCAP, UTF, CBIS, CBAM, or Archive Cloud.
  • Experience with OpenStack or other cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Radio Access Networks and 3G, 4G, or 5G network integration.
  • Experience with HP or HPE servers, Dell EMC or HP storage, Brocade SAN switches, or Cisco and HP switches.
  • Knowledge of Oracle SQL, schema objects, database logs, IBM WebSphere, or Apache Tomcat.
  • Familiarity with LDAP, Citrix, NFS, SAN zoning, LUN creation, RHCS, or high-availability concepts.
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Megamon, Megaplexer, Nethawk, EMIL, K15, or SIMCA.
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge in Linux shell, Perl, Java, Python, or a similar language.
  • Previous experience working for a telecommunications vendor, operator, partner, or system integrator.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has a strong system/server foundation and practical experience with Linux, VMware, and IP networking.
  • Has worked with an OSS/NMS platform from a telecommunications vendor and can transfer that knowledge to a new product environment.
  • Can independently deliver deployment, upgrade, integration, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Is comfortable working across applications, servers, virtualization, databases, and network connectivity.
  • Communicates clearly with customers, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Approaches incidents methodically and follows technical issues through to resolution.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, ownership, adaptability, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Is available for business travel, on-call support, or after-hours activities when required.
