Konexion is connecting experienced packaging industrialization engineers with clients developing advanced semiconductor and photonic technologies. Opportunities are available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the United States.

These roles focus on a critical step: turning promising package designs and successful prototypes into assembly processes that manufacturing partners can execute reliably at scale.

Your role

Depending on the project, you will work between design teams and packaging partners to bring manufacturing requirements into product development and prepare the transition to production.

Your work may include:

• Translating chip and package requirements into clear assembly specifications, tolerances and process windows.
• Leading design-for-manufacturability reviews across die attach, alignment, interconnects and assembly.
• Working with packaging houses, OSATs and contract manufacturers on process capability, control plans and yield.
• Supporting prototype builds, engineering lots, new product introduction and production ramp-up.
• Identifying manufacturability risks early and driving design or process improvements.
• Resolving technical issues with internal teams and suppliers, including hands-on work at manufacturing sites.

What you bring

• Substantial industry experience in silicon photonics, optoelectronics, semiconductors or advanced packaging.
• Direct experience with packaging houses, OSATs or contract manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of DFM, assembly tolerances, process capability, yield and NPI.
• The ability to connect design intent with practical factory constraints.
• Experience moving complex hardware from prototype builds towards scalable production.

You are comfortable working with both engineers and factory teams. You bring structure to technical decisions, act quickly when builds reveal problems and understand what it takes to make a process repeatable.
