This role is suited to a legally trained professional with a solid background in civil and criminal litigation who can take ownership of files and deliver high-quality legal support with minimal supervision. File & Practice Management Maintain and manage client files in Smokeball — ensure all records are complete, compliant, accurately recorded, and up to date. Manage workflow across multiple matters simultaneously, prioritising effectively and flagging issues before they become problems. Support the broader team with administrative and procedural tasks as required to keep matters progressing efficiently. MUST HAVES: Minimum 3–5 years of paralegal experience, with demonstrated exposure to civil litigation in an Australian legal environment Prior experience supporting criminal litigation matters is highly regarded Strong working knowledge of NSW court procedures, filing requirements, and procedural rules Proficiency in Smokeball practice management software — required Excellent written and spoken English — able to draft court-ready documents and communicate confidently with clients, counsel, and courts Strong attention to detail, sound legal judgment, and the ability to manage a varied caseload with a high degree of independence Prior experience working within an Australian legal environment is mandatory Exposure to additional practice areas beyond litigation (e.g. conveyancing, family law, wills and estates)
