About the role
Sygnum is looking for an experienced Senior People Business Partner to join our People & Talent team. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working closely with leaders and teams, turning people insights into practical action and helping a growing organisation make thoughtful, well-informed people decisions.
You will join a small but strong People & Talent team, based across Zurich and Singapore. We care about what we do and about each other, and we genuinely enjoy working together. We are focused, hands-on and committed to finding solutions that help both the business and our people move forward.
You will act as the trusted People partner for designated divisions while also contributing to priorities across People & Talent. Alongside the full range of business-partnering responsibilities, the role has a strong focus on people analytics, recruitment and leadership development. Key themes within the broader Business Partner remit are divided across the team, allowing each Business Partner to build deeper expertise while ensuring joined-up support across the organisation. You will have the autonomy to shape solutions, challenge constructively and deliver meaningful outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
Main responsibilities include:
- Partner with leaders: Build trusted relationships with leaders in your designated divisions, understand their priorities and translate business needs into clear, pragmatic people actions.
- Deliver senior People partnering: Advise and coach leaders on organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee relations, team dynamics, change and other complex people matters.
- Strengthen recruitment: Partner with hiring leaders on workforce needs, role profiles, selection decisions and a high-quality candidate experience, taking an active role in recruiting.
- Develop leaders and talent: Own and further develop our WYNGs leadership talent programme and continue to build and expand our Leadership Essentials offering to equip leaders across the organisation with the practical skills and tools they need to lead effectively.
- Turn data into decisions: Develop meaningful people insights, dashboards and reporting; identify trends and translate data into clear recommendations for leaders and the wider People & Talent team.
- Partner on performance and growth: Partner with leaders in your designated divisions on performance planning, feedback, reviews, development and promotion discussions, ensuring a consistent and thoughtful approach across the organisation.
- Lead People initiatives: Take ownership of selected cross-organisational People projects, working collaboratively across the People & Talent team to turn ideas into effective, scalable solutions.
- Make practical use of AI: Identify and apply suitable AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, recruitment and everyday People processes, while maintaining sound judgement, data privacy and appropriate human oversight.
Our ideal candidate
Qualifications, experience and skills

- At least seven years’ relevant HR experience, including substantial experience in a senior People Business Partner or comparable role advising leaders on complex people and organisational topics.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and Swiss employment law, with the judgement to handle sensitive employee-relations matters fairly, consistently and pragmatically.
- Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience using people data to produce actionable insights, alongside practical experience in recruitment and leadership or talent development; experience in a technology-driven, regulated or scaling organisation is an advantage.
- Confidence using AI-enabled tools in HR or business contexts, with a practical understanding of data quality, confidentiality, responsible use and the importance of human judgement.

Personal profile
- A self-aware and empathetic People professional who builds trust quickly and brings sound judgement, discretion and cultural awareness.
- Warm, approachable and collaborative, while able to set clear expectations and address difficult topics directly and respectfully.

- Curious, adaptable and resilient, with the confidence to work through ambiguity and make progress in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
- Analytical and commercially aware, with a healthy interest in new technology and the ability to combine data, context and human judgement when making recommendations.
- A genuine team player who cares about and supports colleagues, brings a low-ego mindset and focuses on getting things done together.
