Show job description
A high-growth technology organization building mission-critical reliability and incident-response software is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help scale the infrastructure behind its platform.

This is a software-engineering-focused infrastructure role for someone who enjoys solving reliability, performance, scalability, and developer experience challenges through production-grade code and automation.

You’ll have significant ownership across cloud infrastructure, observability, CI/CD, incident response, and platform architecture while partnering closely with product engineering teams. The environment includes AWS, Terraform, Ruby, Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, DynamoDB, and serverless technologies. This role follows a hybrid model with 3 days per week onsite in Downtown Toronto.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience across Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, combined with significant production software development experience and the ability to build maintainable tooling beyond shell-based automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a solid understanding of distributed systems, production web or RPC services, scalability, and reliability engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of observability, monitoring, incident response, CI/CD, performance optimization, SLOs, error budgets, and the operational practices required to support highly available production environments.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience building production software or infrastructure tooling with Ruby and/or Go, ideally while working directly within product engineering teams.
  • Experience operating distributed data and messaging technologies such as Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, and AWS Lambda in production environments.
  • Strong capacity-planning and systems architecture experience, with the ability to identify cross-platform performance, resilience, and scaling risks before they become production issues.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Engineering: 70%
  • Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: 30%

You Will Receive The Following Benefits
