Senior Platform Engineer - Observability
About RHAELM
RHAELM is the sovereign AI cloud built to accelerate secure AI deployment at scale, combining power and infrastructure pipelines with global capability and local, in-country operations. Headquartered in London, with deployments across Europe and APAC, we deliver ring-fenced compute, networking, and storage infrastructure alongside a sovereign platform and flexible Bare Metal, Kubernetes, and AI-as-a-Service models. Focused on regulated and mission-critical sectors including Government, Defence, Healthcare, and Financial Services, we give organizations sovereign control over their AI infrastructure, platform, and data.
OUR TEAM
We’re growing in Poland with a brand-new team hub in Wrocław. As we build our local community, we’re searching for top tech enthusiasts and industry experts to join the journey. If you want to build mission-critical solutions on an impressive scale - join us!
We’re looking for new team members to join our observability team. We build the telemetry platform that the rest of the company runs on. Every layer of our infrastructure reports into it - from facility and power, network fabrics, bare-metal hosts and their management controllers, to GPUs, the control plane, and the managed Kubernetes running above it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Building and maintaining core platform infrastructure: Managing Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, artifact registries, and identity & secrets management systems
- Driving automation and tooling: Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), streamlining operational workflows, and developing tools for engineering and ops teams
- Ensuring reliability and security: Focusing on supply chain security, deployment repeatability, and production environment stability
- Coding for automation and integration: Writing code primarily for smart process automations, system integrations, and batch operations (e.g., data migrations, auto-synchronizations)
YOU ARE A PERFECT MATCH IF YOU HAVE
- A track record of designing, building and running production observability platforms at scale (LGTM stack or ELK): metrics with long retention and high cardinality, log aggregation and distributed tracing
- Deep experience with OpenTelemetry: instrumenting applications and infrastructure, and building telemetry pipelines (collection, processing, sampling, routing)
- Experience defining SLIs/SLOs and alerting strategies
- An observability-as-code mindset: dashboards, alerting rules and data sources versioned and validated in CI
- A solid DevOps foundation: hands-on Kubernetes operations, IaC in production (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD and GitOps
- Linux knowledge at the level of diagnosing problems, plus professional Python experience (async programming, FastAPI) for building tooling, exporters and integrations
- Ownership of architectural decisions and the ability to set observability standards across teams
- English at B2+ level or higher
NICE TO HAVE
- Multi-tenant observability with real per-tenant isolation (queries, retention, encryption keys)
- Low-level telemetry: eBPF, hardware and network devices (SNMP, syslog, gNMI, BMC interfaces), GPU accelerators and RDMA networking
- Continuous profiling
- Golang, e.g. for extending OpenTelemetry Collector or writing exporters
- Advanced platform skills: self-managed Kubernetes, packaging and versioning manifests, software-defined storage
- Security fundamentals: secrets management, PKI, mTLS and automating the certificate lifecycle
- SIEM experience: normalization, event taxonomy, index design, capacity planning
WHAT WE OFFER
