We're looking for a Senior Power BI Engineer to join our team in Delft, Netherlands, in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver advanced Power BI solutions for a global client operating in the Life Sciences and Pharma sectors. You will play a key part in visualizing data for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Customer domains, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition, governance, and delivery within a vendor consolidation program.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and analytical reports for enterprise use
- Create reusable semantic models, star schemas, and DAX measures for efficient reporting
- Optimize report performance and manage data refresh schedules
- Translate business KPIs and requirements into visual and functional dashboards
- Implement row-level security, data classification, and Power BI governance measures
- Lead report migration, inventory management, and workspace governance during transition
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure high-quality and analytics-ready data layers
- Establish and maintain Power BI development standards and best practices
- Support self-service analytics enablement across business domains
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior visualization engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in Power BI development and data visualization
- Hands-on experience in Life Sciences or Pharma domain environments
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, DAX, Power Query (M Query), and Star Schema modeling
- Proficiency in SQL and data integration from multiple enterprise sources
- Familiarity with SSAS Tabular Models, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks data layers
- Knowledge of Power BI Premium, composite models, and performance optimization techniques
- Excellent ability to translate complex KPIs into effective designs and presentations
- Experience implementing visualization standards and Power BI governance frameworks
- Effective communication and documentation skills in English (B2 level or higher)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field
Nice to have
- Experience with Spotfire visualization tools
- Familiarity with Power Apps integration and SSRS Paginated Reports
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Understanding of AWS/Azure hybrid data platforms
- Experience in analytics adoption and stakeholder data storytelling
