💼 About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Privacy Specialist to join the Privacy function of an international organisation operating in a highly regulated environment.

This is initially a one-year consultancy assignment starting in January 2027, with the potential for the assignment to be extended or, depending on business needs and opportunities, for the position to transition into an internal role.

The position will be part of the Global Privacy Office and will work closely with the Global Privacy Program Manager and Regional Privacy Officers, with a strong focus on supporting local businesses and functions across Central and Eastern Europe, including Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Ukraine.

📝 Your responsibilities

• Provide hands-on privacy support to local business teams and functions across Central and Eastern Europe.
• Act as a primary privacy point of contact for local stakeholders and provide practical, business-oriented privacy guidance.
• Support business projects from a privacy perspective and help ensure compliance with applicable privacy requirements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the organisation's privacy programme at local level.
• Support the implementation of privacy policies, procedures, tools and templates within the relevant countries.
• Advise stakeholders on privacy requirements and help translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.
• Support the maintenance of Records of Processing Activities and other privacy documentation.
• Support the handling of Data Breaches and Data Subject Rights Requests, as applicable.
• Contribute to interactions with relevant local Supervisory Authorities when required.
• Work closely with the Global Privacy Office, Regional Privacy Officers and other privacy stakeholders.
• Identify privacy risks and support appropriate remediation and compliance activities.
• Manage stakeholders autonomously and effectively across different countries, functions and levels of seniority.

🧩 About you

We are looking for a senior privacy professional with strong hands-on experience supporting business projects and ensuring compliance with applicable privacy regulations.

You should have:

• Strong practical knowledge of European data protection and privacy law, including the GDPR.
• Demonstrable experience applying European privacy requirements in a business environment.
• Experience providing privacy advice directly to business stakeholders.
• Experience supporting privacy programmes, compliance activities and/or privacy governance.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple stakeholders across different countries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex privacy requirements in a clear and pragmatic way.
• Experience in an international or multi-country environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a regulated environment such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharma or a similarly regulated industry would be an advantage.

📍 Location & working model

The role can be performed primarily remotely. However, proximity to Cluj-Napoca is strongly preferred, as the role may transition into an internal position following the initial consultancy assignment, in which case a minimum of two days per week in the office would be expected.

Occasional travel may also be required depending on business needs.

Candidates based in or within reasonable commuting distance of Cluj-Napoca are therefore particularly encouraged to apply.
