Our Procurement function is made up of a diverse, expert team working collaboratively in a supportive, flexible environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring procurements adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities. Providing Client Relationship Management services to ensure partner buy in for strategic procurements Working with stakeholders/project teams to develop service specifications and appropriate contractual terms in preparation for tender processes. Deputise for the Head of Procurement by acting as a point of contact to internal and external stakeholders for complex enquiries and requirements regarding procurement to ensure a timely resolution and minimal impact on service delivery Ensuring a quality category strategy is agreed with the Category Strategy Lead and delivered operationally Develop and support individual, team and department savings and delivery targets Identify and resolve client and supplier queries/issues Provide ad-hoc and routine data analysis and reporting to the Head of Procurement ensuring implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures including recent Government requirements and initiatives. Design and development of appropriate tender processes taking into account contract management/SRM strategy. Identify key suppliers via contract landscaping, pre-market engagement in contract value add initiatives. To do this role well you will need to demonstrate the following: Proven expertise in advanced purchasing techniques, including handling above-threshold procurements, and hands-on experience with platforms like the Jaggaer eSourcing system. Track record of successfully managing and delivering medium to high-value, complex procurement projects—from initial customer engagement through to contract award—especially outside of category-managed spend Solid background in procurement, with a strong grasp of Government regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements. In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement processes and how to navigate them effectively. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities to build consensus and drive procurement outcomes. Sharp analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data and inform strategic decisions. Experienced in coaching and mentoring colleagues to support professional growth and team success. Hands-on experience working within a Category team, contributing to strategic sourcing and category management. Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement category strategies aligned to organisational goals. Comfortable working within multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating across functions to deliver results. Specific expertise in Digital, Data, and Technology procurement, adding value in fast-evolving sectors.
