About Nu Nu is the leading digital bank in Latin America, serving 135 million customers across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. The company has been leading an industry transformation by leveraging data and proprietary technology to develop innovative products and services. Guided by its mission to fight complexity and empower people, Nu caters to customers’ complete financial journey, promoting financial access and advancement with responsible lending and transparency. The company is powered by an efficient and scalable business model that combines low cost to serve with growing returns. Nu’s impact has been recognized in multiple awards, including Time 100 Most Influential Companies, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, and Forbes World’s Best Banks. Visit our Institutional Page The Role We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (IC5/IC6) to join our Lending New Markets team in Miami. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the center of one of Nubank's most important global expansion efforts. You will be the primary designer responsible for adapting Nubank's unsecured loan product — already the market leader in Brazil with millions of active users — for the US market and future global launches. This is not a zero-to-one craft exercise from scratch; it is a strategic design challenge. You will figure out how to preserve the quality and essence of a proven product while thoughtfully adapting it to new cultural, regulatory, and competitive contexts. What You'll Do - Lead the design strategy and execution for bringing Nubank's lending products to the US market, with the MVP defined by December and delivery beginning in Q4 - Build scalable frameworks and playbooks that allow the team to launch in two new countries per year (currently covering Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and the US) - Partner closely with a US-based product manager, a product lead, and a researcher to run discovery, usability testing, and research in Q3 - Navigate complex cross-functional alignment across four countries and multiple time zones, representing design to senior stakeholders in Brazil and the US - Adapt established Brazilian product experiences for the US market without losing the product-market fit that made them successful - Work in Figma and leverage modern prototyping tools to communicate and test ideas quickly - Contribute to the broader Global Lending design community of 25 designers, sharing learnings and frameworks What We're Looking For - 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating both visual craft and strategic thinking - A strategic mindset for adaptation and localization: you know how to take something that works in one market and make it thrive in another - Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and aligning teams across borders - Experience running discovery work, usability tests, and user research — or at least a strong appetite for it - Domain experience in fintech, banking, or lending is ideal but not required. Experience with large US banks, Capital One, SoFi, or similar is a plus - Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows - Comfort working in a high-growth environment with aggressive timelines and senior visibility Why This Matters Nubank is already the dominant unsecured lending platform in Brazil. The US market is expected to become one of the company's top five priorities — and Lending will play a central role. You will be the designer owning that scope from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to take a product that has already won at massive scale and adapt it for one of the world's largest and most competitive financial markets. Location & Logistics - Based in Miami, FL, working hybrid (3 days per week in office) alongside the US Lending team - The team currently includes a US-based product manager, a product lead, and design/research counterparts in Mexico, with Carolina Perrone (Design Manager, Global Lending) as your hiring manager - Competitive total compensation including salary and liquid RSUs as a public company - Target start: Q3 2026 to enable Q4 product delivery Interview Process 1. Recruiter screen with Alex Libre 2. Asynchronous portfolio review 3. Live portfolio presentation + business case exercise with senior design leaders 4. Hiring manager interview with Carolina Perrone 5. Possible additional final interview Our recruitment process may involve the use of artificial intelligence–enabled tools, such as automated interview transcription and analysis, to support the evaluation process. Artificial intelligence is not used to make final hiring decisions; all decisions are made by human reviewers.
