Molecule and BIO.xyz are building the foundation of Decentralized Science (DeSci) — where biotech meets web3 to make scientific research community-owned, transparent, and faster to market.
Molecule provides the infrastructure to turn intellectual property (IP) into programmable, on-chain assets through our IP-NFT framework and evolving protocol stack. This enables researchers, patients, and communities to fund and govern biotech projects in new, open ways.
BIO.xyz is the coordination and economic layer of DeSci, powering BioDAOs through funding, governance, and ecosystem alignment.
Together, we are creating a new model for scientific discovery — one where breakthroughs are owned and advanced by the communities that believe in them.
We’re looking for a senior Product Designer to shape the user experience and visual language of Molecule’s web and mobile products. You’ll turn product goals and complex requirements into clear, intuitive interfaces, and you’ll own the design system that keeps everything we ship consistent.
You’ll sit within the Product team and work closely with Engineering and Marketing. You’ll take work from first concept through to pixel-perfect execution and implementation. We move fast, so we value iteration over perfection, quick prototypes over long specs, and designers who are comfortable using AI tools to explore ideas and test them early.
This is a role for someone who is as comfortable in a component library as in a whiteboard session. It suits someone who wants to define what great product design looks like in a space where the rules are still being written.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design and refine the user experience and interfaces for Molecule’s core applications across web and mobile, working within the Product team from concept to launch
Own and expand Molecule’s Design System by building and maintaining a scalable, accessible component library that keeps every product consistent
Deliver polished, pixel-perfect UI components that improve usability and clarity and stay aligned with our brand
Write clear component documentation, UI specs, and usage guidelines so handoff from design to development runs smoothly
Partner with Frontend Engineers through implementation to make sure what ships matches what was designed
Apply WCAG standards and UX best practices to make our products inclusive and easy to use
Build interactive prototypes, often with AI-powered tools, to explore ideas and test them with users quickly
Iterate on designs based on user feedback, data, and evolving product needs
Lead and facilitate design work, including setting up frameworks, running brainstorms, and presenting and defending design decisions to stakeholders
Contribute to Molecule’s broader visual identity across product and communications, working with external design partners on brand assets where needed
WHO YOU ARE
You have 7+ years of professional product or UI design experience, ideally on complex products
You have built and scaled design systems and hybrid component libraries across teams, and your portfolio shows it, including component libraries and detailed UI documentation
You’re a Figma expert with hands-on experience managing a design system in it
You understand HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks well enough to design for feasibility and speak engineering’s language
You have a strong grasp of interaction design for both mobile and desktop
You actively use AI tools and AI-enhanced workflows in your design process
You’re ego-free and collaborative. You seek out feedback and critique and keep pushing your craft forward
You’re self-sufficient. You own the design process end to end, manage feedback, and drive execution without micromanagement
You communicate clearly and can explain the reasoning behind your work to designers, engineers, and leadership alike
NICE TO HAVE
You’ve shipped AI or agent-based product experiences
You build and test working prototypes yourself, picking the right tool for the question at hand
Experience with design tokens and front-end design implementation
Knowledge of user testing methodologies and iterative research practices
Experience working with external design or branding agencies
Background in web3, biotech, or decentralised science
WHY MOLECULE
The chance to define the product experience of a category, building the interfaces through which researchers, patients, and communities fund and govern science
Real ownership in a young, fast-growing team where your voice shapes both the product and the company
A team that values substance over titles, speed over process, and people who’ve built their way up
