Job Title: Senior Product Manager, Copay Programs

POSITION SUMMARY:

CareMetx is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Copay Programs to define, shape, and continuously improve how CareMetx delivers pharmaceutical copay program services to pharma manufacturer clients. This is a senior product role with a unique dual mandate: deep subject matter expertise in pharmaceutical copay programs combined with the product thinking needed to build scalable, high-quality service capabilities.

The Senior PM for Copay Programs does not own client relationships — that accountability rests with Account Management. Instead, this role defines what CareMetx's copay program capabilities look like, how they are delivered, and how they evolve over time. You will work closely with Account Management, Operations, and vendor partners to understand needs, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement across CareMetx's copay program portfolio. This role is central to CareMetx's strategy of positioning as a value-added partner in the pharmaceutical reimbursement space.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Copay Program Product Ownership

  • Own the definition and ongoing evolution of CareMetx's copay program service model — including how programs are configured, delivered, monitored, and improved.
  • Serve as CareMetx's senior internal authority on pharmaceutical copay program mechanics — including program design, eligibility rules, adjudication logic, benefit structures, and reimbursement operations.
  • Identify gaps in CareMetx's current copay program capabilities and develop clear, prioritized plans to close them.
  • Translate client needs surfaced by Account Management into well-defined program requirements, operational standards, and vendor specifications.
  • Lead periodic reviews of active programs to identify optimization opportunities across benefit design, eligibility configuration, adjudication logic, and vendor performance.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and vendor platform capabilities to inform CareMetx's copay program roadmap.

2. Vendor Management & Performance

  • Serve as CareMetx's primary operational point of contact for reimbursement vendor partners — managing day-to-day performance against established program standards and SLAs.
  • Define program requirements and configuration standards in partnership with vendors, ensuring delivery aligns with client commitments.
  • Monitor vendor delivery across active copay programs, identifying service gaps, data quality issues, and operational risks, and driving timely resolution.
  • Facilitate regular vendor performance reviews and maintain clear documentation of issues, commitments, and improvement plans.
  • Provide informed input into vendor contract renewals and SLA definitions based on operational experience, partnering with leadership on formal negotiations.

3. Cross-Functional Enablement

  • Act as the primary copay SME for Account Management — providing program guidance, answering complex client questions, and preparing AM teams for client conversations, business reviews, and new business discussions.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure copay programs are executed accurately and efficiently, providing subject matter guidance on program setup, configuration, and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain CareMetx's internal copay program knowledge infrastructure — including training materials, process documentation, escalation frameworks, and quick-reference guides.
  • Develop and deliver copay program training for Account Management, Operations, and Client Services teams.
  • Participate in pre-sales conversations and new client onboarding as the copay SME, partnering with AM to represent CareMetx's capabilities.

4. Roadmap & Strategic Direction

  • Define and maintain CareMetx's copay program capability roadmap — prioritizing improvements, new program types, and vendor enhancements based on client needs, operational feedback, and market trends.
  • Translate market trends and client feedback into actionable capability recommendations for CareMetx leadership.
  • Partner with Product and Operations leadership to shape CareMetx's longer-term copay platform strategy, including Build/Buy evaluation.
  • Define success metrics for CareMetx's copay program capabilities and report performance to senior leadership on a regular cadence.

5. Reporting & Analytics

  • Establish and govern the standard for copay program reporting — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insight delivery to support AM in client-facing conversations.
  • Define reporting frameworks that are scalable across vendors and programs as CareMetx's copay portfolio grows.
  • Oversee the translation of adjudication data, utilization trends, and program metrics into clear performance narratives.
  • Identify anomalies or trends in program data and proactively communicate findings to AM and Operations teams.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical patient services, hub services, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement program management, or related product/operations roles.
  • Deep working knowledge of pharmaceutical copay program mechanics — eligibility, adjudication, benefit design, and reimbursement operations.
  • Demonstrated product management experience — defining requirements, owning service or capability roadmaps, and driving cross-functional execution.
  • Proven ability to serve as an internal subject matter expert, advising and enabling account management and operations teams.
  • Experience managing vendor or partner relationships at a senior level — including performance oversight, SLA accountability, and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical fluency; able to interpret program performance data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable translating complex program concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Direct experience working with pharmaceutical reimbursement platform vendors (e.g., copay card processors, hub services platforms, or similar).
  • Prior experience defining or scaling a copay, reimbursement, or patient services capability within a growing organization.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturer brand teams, market access functions, and patient support program strategy.
  • Experience contributing to vendor contract discussions and SLA development in an operational or product capacity.
  • Background in both product management and pharmaceutical operations — candidates who have crossed from one discipline to the other are strongly encouraged to apply.
