Job Description

We're hiring a Product Manager to take ownership of two of our client´s most strategically important product portfolios: Location Performance Optimization (LPO) and Analytics. Depending on experience, this may be filled at Senior Product Manager level.

Analytics is the reporting and insights layer of our client´s platform. It is a technically deep product line, and the more challenging of the two areas. You'll bring product clarity to a complex domain and define what a best-in-class analytics experience looks like for multi-location marketers. This is where the sharpest product thinking is required, and it is the primary focus of the role.

LPO is a conversion-focused, SEO-driven portfolio that helps multi-location brands turn local search visibility into measurable foot traffic, leads, and revenue. It sits at the commercial core of the platform and is central to how customers prove ROI on their local marketing investment.

This is a high-visibility role. You'll operate with strong independence, set direction across two intertwined product areas, and act as a credible technical and strategic counterpart to engineering, data, and go-to-market leadership. The right person reduces management overhead rather than requiring close oversight.

Your Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Lead the full product lifecycle for both LPO and Analytics, from discovery and vision through delivery, adoption, and iteration. Build roadmaps that balance long-term platform health with near-term commercial impact.
  • Strategic Vision & Commercial Value: Translate market signals, customer needs, and competitive dynamics into a clear product strategy. Define how LPO drives conversion and how Analytics drives customer retention and expansion.
  • Technical Depth in Analytics: Partner deeply with engineering and data teams on event tracking design, instrumentation, and data infrastructure decisions. Hold your own in technical discussions about data models, pipelines, and product analytics tooling.
  • Customer-Centric Discovery: Run continuous discovery with multi-location brands and internal stakeholders. Validate hypotheses through interviews, usability testing, and quantitative analysis.
  • Agile Execution: Own the backlog and prioritization across two squads. Translate complex requirements into clear user stories and navigate technical trade-offs with engineering.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Define and track success against SaaS metrics such as adoption, retention, NRR, and conversion impact. Use these to justify prioritization and report progress to leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across a globally distributed organization, partnering with engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, and customer success across multiple regions.
  • AI Integration: Use AI tools daily to accelerate your workflow, and identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into LPO and Analytics where they create real customer value.

Your Profile

  • Analytics Product Management Experience (primary requirement): A proven track record as a product manager on analytics, BI, or data-heavy products. You have shipped reporting, insights, or data visualization experiences and understand what makes them genuinely useful to end users. This is the core of the role, and it is what we weigh most heavily.
  • Technical Authority: Fluency in product analytics infrastructure, including event tracking design, instrumentation, and tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or equivalent. You understand how data flows through a SaaS product and can have credible conversations with engineers about data models, APIs, and pipelines.
  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset: You think beyond features. You understand how product decisions translate into pipeline, retention, and customer outcomes, and can articulate that to executive stakeholders.
  • Multi-Squad / Two-Portfolio Capability: You've owned multiple product areas or worked across multiple squads in parallel, or have the operating maturity to do so.
  • Pragmatic Execution Style: You apply product frameworks with judgment, not dogma. You move fast with an 80/20 approach when the situation calls for it, and slow down when the decision requires rigor.
  • Communication Mastery: Excellent written and verbal English. You communicate concisely, simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences, and write the crisp documentation that aligns distributed teams.
  • Remote-First Operator: Proven track record of working effectively in a globally distributed, asynchronous environment across multiple time zones.
  • AI Savvy: You actively use AI tools in your daily work and have a point of view on where AI belongs (and where it doesn't) in B2B SaaS products.
  • B2B SaaS Context (preferred): Experience in B2B SaaS, and ideally exposure to martech platforms.

Secondary / Nice To Have

  • Experience with conversion optimization, SEO, or local search. This is secondary to analytics product experience, not a core requirement.
  • Experience with location-based marketing or local SEO.
  • Background as a Technical PM, Data PM, or experience with Data products..
  • SQL fluency or hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Experience leading a product area through a strategic repositioning or replatforming.

What Sets The Right Candidate Apart

This role has a high bar, and years of experience alone will not clear it. We are prioritizing a specific profile: sharp, curious, pragmatic, low-ego, and comfortable challenging assumptions. Candidates will be assessed directly against the following:

  • Concise executive communication. You can convince leadership and executive stakeholders of an idea with substance and brevity. You get to the point, land the argument, and don't ramble. Strong presentation skills under scrutiny are essential.
  • Analytics product sense. You have genuine product intuition for analytics and BI products, including how to build reporting and visualization experiences that end users actually understand and act on. This will be probed in depth.
  • Critical thinking under pressure. You hold up when your reasoning is questioned. You can defend prioritization and design decisions with clear logic, not just credentials.
  • Parallel-portfolio operating maturity. You've owned multiple product areas or squads in parallel, and you context-switch without dropping balls.
  • Independent execution. You move things forward on your own and require handholding rarely, if at all.
  • Storytelling with data. You turn data into a clear narrative that drives decisions across technical and non-technical audiences.

A happy team makes all the difference. That’s why we offer:

  • Payment in USD
  • A truly flexible work schedule
  • A Non-Working Pay Days Policy
  • Learning Budget
  • An opportunity for you to help create change in the industry
  • And more!

Athenaworks is an inclusive and safe organization that values your technical skills, work experience, collaboration abilities, and potential to grow in your career. We proudly welcome self-taught individuals, as we focus solely on your ability to deliver exceptional work. We will never consider any irrelevant personal or professional aspects of your life.
