Description

F1Service is looking for a Senior Product Owner (Acquiring, Open Banking) for our client, a leading international Electronic Money Institution (EMI). The company is licensed in the UK, Canada and Malta, operates in 140+ countries and 25+ industries, and offers multicurrency IBANs, merchant solutions, mass payments, acquiring and open banking through one platform.

You will own the product lifecycle end to end, define and prioritise features, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver fintech products on time and with high quality.


What you will do

Product Discovery & Delivery

  • Own product initiatives end to end, from idea to production rollout
  • Turn business goals into clear requirements, epics and user stories
  • Prioritise the backlog by value, effort, compliance and risk
  • Define acceptance criteria and keep the backlog clean and structured

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Engineering, Finance and Customer Support
  • Gather requirements, negotiate priorities and align expectations
  • Run workshops, discovery sessions and status reviews
  • Communicate product decisions, timelines and trade-offs clearly

Technical & SDLC Collaboration

  • Work daily with engineering to clarify scope, manage dependencies and unblock delivery
  • Make sure requirements are groomed before development
  • Validate technical feasibility with architects and developers
  • Support QA with test cases and take part in UAT

User Experience & UX Analytics

  • Advocate for user-centric design across customer journeys and internal workflows
  • Review wireframes, prototypes and UI designs
  • Use UX analytics (heatmaps, session recordings, funnel analysis) to find pain points
  • Turn insights into measurable product improvements


What we expect


General

  • 3+ years as a Product Owner or in product management in Fintech, EMI, PSP or Banking
  • Solid understanding of the fintech ecosystem, payment schemes and banking integrations
  • API familiarity: reading API docs, understanding request-response flows
  • Experience with Acquiring, Pay by Bank, Checkout and Open Banking (Open Banking optional)

Hard skills

  • Strong expertise in card and merchant acquiring and e-commerce payment acceptance
  • Deep knowledge of the card payment lifecycle: authorization, clearing, settlement, refunds, reversals, chargebacks
  • Integrations with gateways, acquirers, PSPs, card schemes (Visa, Mastercard) and APMs
  • Card scheme rules, interchange, scheme fees, IC++ and blended pricing, merchant settlement
  • Merchant onboarding, underwriting, risk assessment and lifecycle management
  • Fraud prevention, 3DS, authorization optimization, soft declines and authentication flows
  • Payment orchestration, routing, smart retries, failover and multi-acquirer setups
  • Merchant reporting, reconciliation, settlement, payouts and reserve management
  • SQL and data-driven analysis of authorization, conversion, acceptance and chargeback rates
  • Ability to turn acquiring and card scheme requirements into scalable product solutions, API design and payment workflows
