Position Summary

The Senior Professor of Hotel Management & Academic Coordinator provides academic leadership for Hospitality Academy's hotel management programs while delivering high-quality teaching in strategic hospitality management. The role combines senior-level teaching with responsibility for academic coordination, curriculum development, faculty leadership, quality assurance, student success, and industry engagement.

The position ensures that academic programs remain innovative, industry-relevant, and aligned with institutional quality standards while fostering an outstanding student learning experience.

Key Responsibilities


1. Teaching & Learning Excellence

  • Deliver undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education modules in Hotel Management and Hospitality Strategy.

  • Develop engaging learning experiences using case studies, simulations, project-based learning and experiential methodologies.

  • Design assessments aligned with learning outcomes.

  • Supervise dissertations, capstone projects and applied consulting projects.

  • Provide academic tutoring and mentoring to students.

  • Maintain high levels of student satisfaction and academic performance.

2. Academic Coordination

  • Coordinate academic calendars and module scheduling.

  • Ensure consistency across modules and programmes.

  • Coordinate faculty workload and teaching assignments.

  • Monitor programme delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with academic regulations.

  • Manage programme documentation.

  • Coordinate examinations and assessment processes.

  • Ensure learning outcomes are achieved.

  • Resolve academic issues affecting students or faculty.

3. Curriculum Development

  • Lead periodic programme reviews.

4. Faculty Leadership

  • Coordinate and support teaching staff.

  • Mentor junior lecturers.

  • Conduct teaching observations when required.

  • Promote teaching excellence and innovation.

  • Facilitate faculty meetings.

  • Encourage collaboration across departments.

  • Support onboarding of new faculty.

5. Academic Quality Assurance

Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives by:

  • Monitoring programme quality indicators.

  • Reviewing student evaluations.

  • Developing action plans for improvement.

  • Supporting accreditation processes.

  • Ensuring compliance with institutional quality standards.

  • Preparing academic reports.

  • Participating in internal and external academic reviews.

6. Student Experience

  • Monitor student progression and retention.

  • Provide academic guidance.

  • Support students facing academic challenges.

  • Participate in orientation activities.

  • Collaborate with Student Services.

  • Promote student engagement throughout the programme.

7. Industry Engagement

Maintain strong links with the hospitality industry by:

  • Developing partnerships with hotel companies.

  • Representing Hospitality Academy at professional events.

  • Identifying emerging industry needs.

8. Research & Innovation

  • Contribute to applied hospitality research.

  • Publish professional articles where appropriate.

  • Participate in academic conferences.

  • Lead educational innovation initiatives.

  • Incorporate current hospitality trends into teaching.

9. Institutional Contribution

  • Participate in Open Days.

  • Support student recruitment.

  • Represent Hospitality Academy externally.

  • Contribute to strategic projects.

  • Participate in committees.

  • Promote Hospitality Academy's academic reputation.


Required Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Master's Degree in:

    • Hotel Management

    • Hospitality Management

    • Tourism Management

    • Business Administration

    • Related discipline

Preferred

  • Doctorate (PhD/DBA/EdD) in Hospitality, Tourism, Business or related field.

Professional Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive hospitality industry experience.

  • Senior management experience within international hotels or hospitality organisations.

  • Minimum 8 years of higher education teaching experience.

  • Experience coordinating academic programmes.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred

  • International hospitality experience.

  • Experience working with accreditation bodies.
