Description Martin/Martin is seeking a senior-level engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our Larkspur office. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing structures. We support a broad range of projects including structural repairs, façade and access systems, building envelope assessments, non-destructive testing, and expert witness work. Martin/Martin has been based in Denver for more than 81 years. In this position, you will play a key role in our national expansion across the California region, helping establish and strengthen our presence in an emerging market with both new and existing clients. This role will also manage multiple small to medium-size projects, which may include investigation, evaluation, repair design for existing buildings and new designs. The ideal candidate will have a mix of client management experience and prior experience managing junior staff. An interest in active professional involvement with structural engineering and forensic engineering committees is highly desirable. The Team Our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. Responsibilities Assists in conceptual design. Assists in fee determination and proposal preparation. Establishes a QA/QC plan for each project. Acts as a mentor for younger engineers and assists with their career development. Attends project meetings and represents Martin/Martin, Inc. during design and construction. Follows up on collection of account receivables. Requirements Required Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum Minimum of 9 years progressive engineering experience 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam Prior experience with ASCE 41 and the International Existing Building Code 5+ years of project management experience, including demonstrated ability to take a project from inception to final completion Must be eligible to work for any employer within the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Ability to work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function. The following abilities are required: Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites Remain stationary for long periods of time Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder Identify color Read, communicate, and document in English Determine and exchange accurate information Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces Compensation The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Base Salary: For individuals hired in California, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 annually. Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process. Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program. Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual’s job-level and annual company performance.
