Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Fit-Out | UK / Norway
JDL Recruitment is partnering with one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI infrastructure businesses to appoint Senior Project Managers across its expanding UK and Norwegian delivery programmes.
This is a client-side position focused on delivering high-density AI infrastructure inside partnered data centre facilities. You’ll take ownership of technical fit-out projects from design coordination through installation, commissioning and operational handover.
The business combines data centre capacity, power, GPU infrastructure, networking and AI services within one integrated platform. With significant backing, a rapidly growing international pipeline and company shares included within the package, this is an opportunity to join while the internal delivery organisation is still being built.
The role
You’ll lead fast-paced data centre fit-out projects, typically delivered over six to nine months.
Working with internal electrical, mechanical, CSA and commissioning specialists, you’ll maintain overall control of the deployment programme and ensure the different contractors, vendors and technical packages integrate successfully.
This is not a shell-and-core or base-build position. The focus is the technical infrastructure inside the facility, taking the environment from design and construction readiness through to fully commissioned, operational white space.
What you’ll be doing
• Lead technical fit-out projects from design coordination through construction, commissioning and handover
• Maintain overall ownership of programme, cost, quality, risk, change and reporting
• Coordinate white-space, MEP, CSA, IT and specialist technology workstreams
• Manage OFCI equipment through procurement, logistics, installation and integration
• Oversee racks, containment, busway, final power connections and structured cabling
• Coordinate cooling infrastructure, including high-density and liquid-cooling interfaces
• Manage fibre, network, controls, BMS, security and monitoring-system integration
• Lead consultants, principal contractors, specialist installers and equipment vendors
• Resolve technical and commercial interfaces across multiple delivery packages
• Coordinate testing, integrated systems testing, operational readiness and final handover
• Work closely with internal technical specialists and external data centre partners
• Support the continued development of the company’s fit-out delivery standards and processes
What we’re looking for
• Strong project-management experience delivering data centre technical fit-out or white-space infrastructure
• Proven ownership of projects through installation, commissioning and operational handover
• Experience managing OFCI equipment and specialist technology vendors
• Good understanding of racks, containment, structured cabling, final power and cooling interfaces
• Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, CSA, IT and commissioning teams
• A client-side, developer, operator, consultancy or specialist-contractor background
• The ability to lead multiple technical workstreams without needing to be the detailed designer for every discipline
• Strong commercial, programme and stakeholder-management capability
• Comfortable working across fast-moving projects lasting approximately six to nine months
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, with all travel and accommodation fully funded
• Relevant working rights for the UK or Europe, depending on the position
The roles are primarily home-based, with site attendance typically structured as one or two days per week or several concentrated project days every couple of weeks.
