Are you an experienced project professional who can turn strategic ambitions into concrete results? As Senior Project Manager, you will independently lead larger workstreams within NextGen Risk Management, connecting subject matter experts, technology and business stakeholders to deliver change within scope, budget and time.
What you are going to do
The NextGen Risk Management programme is the defining transformation programme for the Risk function within NN Group. It aims to build a next-generation Risk function powered by data, technology and AI-driven insights, while maintaining strong foundations of control, compliance and quality.
As Senior Project Manager, you independently lead one or more larger project workstreams within the programme. You translate programme objectives into clear scope, deliverables, milestones and implementation plans, and drive day-to-day execution to deliver the agreed outcomes within scope, budget and time. You bring structure to complex topics, create alignment and make risks, dependencies, options and decisions explicit.
You work closely with subject matter experts, IT, Data, Finance, Group Risk and representatives from the business units. Depending on your workstream, you engage with senior experts, MT members, workstream leads, the Programme Management Team and SteerCo. Your responsibilities include:
- Independently ensuring the project management of workstreams within NextGen Risk Management, for example related to the target IT and data landscape, SCR or actuarial reporting
- Translating workstream objectives into clear scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies and actions for the assigned workstream
- Identifying, evaluating and managing workstream risks, issues, dependencies and resource constraints, developing solutions where needed and escalating decision needs in a timely manner
- Coordinating stakeholders across Group Risk, functions and business units, and preparing high-quality management deliverables, options and recommendations for PMT, SteerCo and relevant domain governance
- Coordinating project team members and junior project management support, reviewing the quality of their output and sharing project management best practices through guidance, coaching and mentoring
What we offer you
NN invests in an inclusive, inspiring work environment and in skills and competences for the future. We match this with employee benefits that are in line with what is needed today and in the future. This way, we offer our employees the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. We offer you:
- Salary between €5,933 and €7,910 based on 40 hours per week and depending on your knowledge and experience
- 13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary
- 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week and 3 Diversity Days
- A modern pension administered by BeFrank
- Plenty of training and learning opportunities
- NS Business Card 2nd class, which gives you unlimited travel, also privately. Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometers travelled
- Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use
- A temporary position with a duration of 1 year
Who you are
You are an experienced and hands-on project manager who combines disciplined execution with strong stakeholder management. You can independently lead larger projects or workstreams in a complex programme environment and are comfortable working across organisational and functional boundaries.
You bring structure to complex issues and translate them into clear plans, options and recommendations. You challenge assumptions constructively, facilitate alignment and maintain momentum when priorities, dependencies or circumstances change. You communicate confidently with senior experts and management stakeholders while remaining close to delivery.
In addition, you:
- Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, transformation or change delivery within financial services, insurance, Risk, Finance, IT or Data
- Have a proven ability to independently lead larger projects or workstreams within a broader programme and to deliver within scope, budget and time
- Bring strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, and can translate complex issues, dependencies and options into clear recommendations
- Are a strong stakeholder manager and communicator, fluent in English and able to prepare concise, high-quality materials for management decision-making
- Work in a structured, proactive and result-driven way, with affinity for Risk management and data- and technology-enabled transformation, and hold a relevant university degree
Who you will work with
You will be part of our pool of Project & Change management experts led by a Senior Programme Manager. The pool is part of the Risk Strategy & Change team at Group Risk, which consists of experienced risk experts focused on risk strategy and change.
You will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager, fellow project and change professionals, workstream leads and subject matter experts across Group Risk and the Dutch and international business units. You will also coordinate and guide junior project management support or project team members where relevant. The role offers broad exposure to strategic Risk topics and senior stakeholders across NN Group. It provides the opportunity to lead meaningful transformation workstreams, deepen your expertise in Risk, Data, IT and AI-enabled change, and contribute to stronger project management capabilities across the programme.
