Headquartered in Mississauga, Canada, our mission is to deliver data-driven operational intelligence and sustainable infrastructure solutions to critical facilities worldwide.

Position Overview

PLC Group is seeking an experienced, business-savvy Senior Project Manager to join our North American team in Mississauga, ON.

This role is heavily focused on our Cooling as a Service (CaaS) and thermal management solutions for critical infrastructure (data centers, telecom central offices, edge facilities, and industrial facilities). You will oversee the complete project lifecycle—from technical solution validation and vendor procurement to equipment deployment, commissioning, and ongoing service delivery performance.

As the primary bridge between client executives, technical teams, and vendor partners, you will ensure that performance-based CaaS contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to targeted efficiency and reliability metrics (PUE, uptime, energy reduction).

Key ResponsibilitiesCaaS Deployment & Project Delivery (50%)
  • End-to-End Project Execution: Lead the end-to-end rollout of multi-site CaaS deployments, including HVAC/Chiller upgrades, precision cooling retrofit projects, IoT monitoring integration, and thermal management systems across client sites.
  • Performance Contracting: Ensure projects strictly adhere to client Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs), and guaranteed energy reduction metrics essential to the CaaS model.
  • Commissioning & Retrofits: Oversee onsite installation, testing, and commissioning of cooling infrastructure alongside mechanical contractors, engineering teams, and customer facilities leads.
  • Risk & Scope Management: Control scope, manage variations, mitigate supply chain/technical risks, and maintain detailed project schedules using formal project management methodologies.
Financial Management & Vendor Operations (30%)
  • Capital & OPEX Tracking: Manage multi-million dollar project budgets under the CaaS financial model, tracking equipment procurement costs, installation expenses, and projected operational margins.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Select, negotiate with, and direct mechanical/electrical contractors, HVAC suppliers, and engineering partners to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards (ESA, TSSA, local building codes).
  • Billing & SLA Alignment: Collaborate with finance teams to validate operational milestones that trigger client billing cycles under long-term service agreements.
Client Advisory & Technical Alignment (20%)
  • Executive Client Ownership: Serve as the senior point of contact for client project sponsors, facility directors, and enterprise operations leads.
  • Technical Solution Review: Work closely with PLC Group’s Solution Engineers and Product Teams to validate thermal modeling, baseline energy calculations, and site-level HVAC designs.
  • Post-Deployment Handoff: Ensure seamless transition from project installation to ongoing operations, remote monitoring, and maintenance management teams.
Candidate QualificationsProfessional Experience
  • 8–12+ years of progressive project management experience delivering complex mechanical, electrical, or energy management infrastructure projects.
  • Proven CaaS / Energy Efficiency Track Record: Direct experience delivering Cooling as a Service (CaaS), Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC), or major commercial/industrial HVAC turnkey projects.
  • Direct project experience within Data Centers, Telecom Facilities, Commercial Real Estate, or Critical Industrial Infrastructure.
Certifications & Technical Acumen
  • PMP Certification (Project Management Professional) or equivalent credential required.
  • Engineering Background: University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or related field (P.Eng status in Ontario is an asset).
  • Certification in energy efficiency (e.g., CEM - Certified Energy Manager) or LEED accreditation is a significant advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of thermal management systems (Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, Direct-to-Chip cooling, Free Cooling systems) and Building Management Systems (BMS / HVAC automation).
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong command of Canadian building codes, electrical/safety standards, and local contractor networks in Ontario/Canada.
  • Exceptional financial acumen regarding lifecycle costing, equipment ROI, and service agreement contract structures.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Location: Must be based in or near Mississauga, ON, with flexibility for hybrid work and occasional travel to regional deployment sites.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary & Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage, retirement matching, and competitive annual performance bonus.
  • High-Growth Domain: Direct involvement in cutting-edge sustainable infrastructure and energy-saving technology models (CaaS / Decarbonization).
  • Global Exposure: Join an innovative team operating at the intersection of AI, IoT software, and green facility engineering.
