Our vision - your future

Cofinity-X is a joint venture founded in 2023 by BASF, BMW Group, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Schaeffler, Siemens, T-Systems, Volkswagen, and ZF. Established by industry experts, our company is primed for growth and is intended to be further led by professionals like yourself.

Your mission

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for our portfolio of large-scale, publicly funded European AI research projects, from kick-off to final reporting
  • Steer all work packages across multiple projects: plan scope, milestones and deliverables, track progress and resolve dependencies between partners
  • Manage multi-partner consortia of industrial companies, research institutions and associations across several EU member states
  • Act as the primary contact for funding bodies and project management agencies, owning interim and final reports, change requests and proof of use
  • Own project financials in close alignment with Finance, including budget planning, cost tracking, personnel planning and eligibility of costs
  • Ensure compliance with national and European funding and state aid requirements, including documentation, dissemination and open-source obligations
  • Work closely with our Machine Learning team to translate project objectives into technical work plans and make sure deliverables land on time and in quality
  • Coordinate dissemination activities such as publications, open-source releases and events across the dataspace ecosystem (e.g. Catena-X)
  • Identify project risks early, escalate where needed and drive mitigation

Your profile

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years in publicly funded R&D projects with multi-partner consortia (e.g. IPCEI)
  • Ideally, you have already acted as consortium coordinator and bring experience with dataspaces and a project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Solid knowledge of German and European funding frameworks and their financial rules (e.g. AGVO)
  • Strong technical affinity: you can discuss AI, machine learning and data architectures with engineers at eye level, without writing code yourself
  • Proven ability to run several complex workstreams in parallel with a high level of structure and reliability
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort working with senior representatives from industry, research and public authorities
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken
