Senior QA Automation Engineer

Job Description This is a remote position. We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an international development team. This role requires a technically mature professional with strong automation expertise, focusing approximately 30% on Frontend and 70% on Backend testing . As a Senior Engineer, you will not only deliver high-quality automated testing solutions but also take ownership, mentor team members, proactively improve testing processes, and contribute to technical excellence across the organization. Responsibilities: Plan and execute integration, system, and usability testing. Participate in End-to-End (E2E) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Collaborate closely with developers to identify critical paths and ensure product stability. Foster strong collaboration with other development teams. Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks. Participate in code reviews and promote high-quality engineering practices. Evaluate, integrate, and introduce new testing tools and technologies (Proof of Concept, showcases). Contribute to continuous improvements in the testing strategy and automation processes. Requirements What we are looking for: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience. Core technical skills: Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript for test development. Strong expertise in Git and version control workflows. Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and validation. Deep knowledge of CI/CD processes and tooling. Excellent understanding of API response structures and contract testing. Experience with performance testing methodologies and execution. Solid grasp of SDLC across the full software delivery lifecycle. Strong command of programming best practices: SOLID, KISS, OOP, design patterns. Experience in code review and promoting development standards. Proven ability to evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies (POC, showcase). Familiarity with Jira; experience with X-ray plugin is a plus. Automated testing toolchain: Web front-end: Selenium / Selenide (primary web testing tool) Cypress (used by select teams) TestNG / JUnit Cucumber JMeter (nice to have) API testing: REST Assured TestNG / JUnit Gatling (nice to have) Mobile testing: Appium XCUI Test (for specific teams) Performance: Gatling (lead performance tool in organisation) JMeter (nice to have) Soft skills: English: B2–C1 (working proficiency required for daily collaboration).
