We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test automation, performance, and quality strategy to join our team supporting enterprise transactional channels. This role requires hands-on experience validating mobile, web, and backend solutions, ensuring robust test coverage across functional, non-functional, and security domains.

Hybrid work arrangement based in Quito. Availability to attend the office a minimum of three (3) days per week is required.

Responsibilities

Design and execute test strategies and plans using BDD approaches
Define acceptance criteria and ensure alignment with business requirements
Develop and maintain automated test scripts for frontend (web/mobile) and backend (services) environments
Build and manage automation frameworks such as SerenityBDD, ScreenPlay, Gherkin-Cucumber, and Karate
Execute performance tests and interpret results using tools such as JMeter and K6
Perform security testing and develop automated security test scripts using tools such as OWASP ZAP
Manage automation pipelines and integrate testing into CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps
Maintain source code repositories and version control using Git
Validate data integrity through SQL queries across relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL
Apply shift-left and shift-right testing practices to improve quality throughout the development lifecycle
Analyze quality metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with mobile QA efforts for Android, iOS, and hybrid applications, including validation of APIs, transactional flows, business rules, and accounting processes

Requirements

Over 5 years of experience in QA automation, including test automation for Android, iOS, and hybrid applications
Knowledge of test management tools such as Jira and X-Ray, along with test processes and types (ISTQB FL / AT)
Expertise in automation frameworks such as SerenityBDD, ScreenPlay, Gherkin-Cucumber, and Karate
Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter and K6, including interpretation of results
Familiarity with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP
Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL, Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL, including query writing and data validation
Background in software development practices such as SOLID principles, Clean Code, Refactoring, and DRY/DAMP
Knowledge of GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Windsurf
Skills in Agile methodologies or frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to technical and non-technical audiences

Knowledge of ITIL v4
AI certification (Copilot preferred; Claude, Gemini, GPT, Grok, etc., optional)
