Senior QA Engineer / Business Analyst (German Speaking)

About the Role

We are seeking a versatile Business Analyst / QA Test Engineer fluent in German to join a high-performing software engineering initiative for a leading European banking institution. In this hybrid quality engineering and business analysis role, you will bridge the gap between technical delivery and requirement refinement. You will own end-to-end quality assurance across complex enterprise banking portals, testing microfrontend architectures, backend microservices, and event-driven systems while driving defect resolution and requirements clarification.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Test Automation: Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites across the full software lifecycle (unit, integration, system, regression, and E2E) for modern online banking portals.
• Requirements Refinement & BA Bridge: Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to clarify ambiguous functional and non-functional requirements, convert gaps into actionable specifications, and drive defect resolution.
• Microfrontend & Frontend Testing: Perform rigorous UI and functional testing on web applications built with React and TypeScript in microfrontend environments.
• Backend & API Validation: Execute deep API and service testing for architectures powered by Java Spring Boot, Kotlin, and event-driven Kafka messaging.
• DevTestOps & CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites directly into cloud-native delivery pipelines utilizing OpenShift and ArgoCD.
• AI-Assisted Engineering: Leverage modern AI-driven tools (such as GitHub Copilot) to streamline test script generation and optimize testing workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Language Capability: Fluent/Native German (B2+ written and spoken) is a strict requirement for daily collaboration, alongside strong English skills.
• QA & BA Background: Proven track record as a Software QA / Test Automation Engineer in modern Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), ideally combined with Business Analysis or Requirements Engineering experience.
• Frontend Technologies: Practical experience testing microfrontend architectures, specifically within React / TypeScript frameworks.
• Backend Technologies: Solid exposure to testing RESTful services and event-driven systems (Kafka, Java Spring Boot, Kotlin).
• Test Automation Tooling: Proficiency with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Gauge, Selenium, Cucumber (Gherkin), or similar modern tools.
• Infrastructure & CI/CD: Hands-on understanding of containerized environments and deployment automation (ArgoCD, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• AI Tooling: Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery.
