🚀 About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Desent Solutions GmbH.

You’ll play a key role in making sure the products we build are reliable, stable, and ready for our users. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to improve quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle—not just before release.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys breaking things before our users do, improving QA processes, and helping a team build better software. 🔍

🎯 What You’ll Do

• 🧪 Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test suites for new features and releases
• 🔎 Perform manual testing across web and mobile applications
• 🐛 Identify, document, track, and verify bugs in Jira
• 📝 Write clear and reproducible bug reports including steps, expected behavior, severity, and priority
• 🤝 Collaborate closely with developers and product managers during sprint planning, refinement, and grooming
• 🚦 Participate in release readiness and help ensure features are production-ready
• ⚙️ Define and improve QA workflows, labels, and processes in Jira
• 📊 Help define and track quality metrics
• 💡 Suggest improvements to testing processes, tools, and overall product quality
• 👨‍🏫 Support and mentor junior QA team members
• 🌱 Help continuously improve our overall QA strategy and standards

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with manual software testing
• Excellent knowledge of Jira for bug tracking, sprint planning, and workflow management
• Experience writing structured test cases using Given / When / Then or similar formats
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
• Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or Insomnia
• Ability to create clear, detailed, and reproducible bug reports
• Understanding of severity vs. priority when classifying issues
• Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset 👀

✨ Nice to Have

• 🤖 Experience with test automation using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• 🔄 Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
• ⚡ Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6
• 🎓 ISTQB or a similar QA certification
• 💻 Basic understanding of Git and developer workflows
