We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global leader in HR technology, delivering an end-to-end SaaS platform that supports the entire recruitment lifecycle. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, their solutions combine cloud technology, automation, and cutting-edge AI to help businesses hire smarter, work more efficiently, and deliver better talent experiences.

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join an experienced engineering team and take ownership of quality across a complex, large-scale SaaS platform. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on manual testing, including testing business-critical background processes related to timesheets, payments, assignments, and invoice accuracy.

You will analyze requirements, design and execute test scenarios, investigate complex defects, and gradually automate suitable test cases using an existing Playwright and C#/.NET framework. The role is a good fit for an experienced, detail-oriented QA professional who enjoys understanding complex business logic and wants to combine strong manual testing expertise with growing test automation responsibilities.

Key takeaways:

Stack: Manual testing, API testing, test automation, Playwright, C#/.NET, NUnit, Postman, Jira

Salary: 14 000 PLN - 16 000 PLN gross on the Contract of Employment

Working model: hybrid - 3x weekly from the office

Location: Krakow

Recruitment process:

  • A call with Motife Recruiter (40 min)
  • Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (40 min)
  • Technical Interview (1h)
  • Hiring Manager Interview (30 min)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on manual testing of a complex SaaS platform, including requirements analysis, test case design, exploratory testing, regression testing, and defect investigation.
  • Test business-critical background processes related to timesheets, payments, assignments, calculations, and invoice accuracy.
  • Analyze requirements and identify potential quality risks and testing needs before development is completed.
  • Design and execute test scenarios across backend services, APIs, databases, and web applications.
  • Test REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
  • Use SQL Server to validate data, investigate issues, and verify system behavior at the database level.
  • Maintain and extend existing automated tests using Playwright, C#/.NET, and NUnit, gradually automating suitable manual test scenarios.
  • Work with an established test automation framework and existing examples rather than building an automation solution from scratch.
  • Support regression, smoke testing, release readiness, and UAT activities.
  • Investigate and help troubleshoot complex defects across a multi-tier environment.
  • Document and manage test plans and test cases using Jira and Xray.
  • Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other Quality Engineers to improve testability and overall product quality.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to support test planning and automation.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional software quality engineering/testing experience, with strong hands-on experience in manual testing.
  • Experience testing complex applications where data accuracy, calculations, and business processes are critical.
  • Strong experience with requirements analysis, test case design, exploratory testing, regression testing, and defect investigation.
  • Hands-on experience testing REST and/or SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL, including writing queries to validate data and investigate application issues.
  • Experience testing both backend processes and web applications.
  • Some hands-on experience with test automation; experience with Playwright, C#/.NET, NUnit, or similar technologies would be particularly valuable.
  • Ability to understand and maintain existing automated tests; experience building automation frameworks from scratch is not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to investigating complex scenarios and identifying inconsistencies.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and collaborating closely with software engineers and product teams.
