Is this job info correct?

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we’ve grown into a global community—with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. But today we’re working better, smarter and faster than ever—and setting our sights even higher. We’re building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other’s passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth. At Lakeshore, every product that reaches a child has been held to a standard — and you're part of how we set it. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll own the testing strategy for our toys, soft goods, and plastics, translating product requirements into rigorous test plans that give our design and development teams the confidence to move forward. Your analysis shapes real product decisions, and your work connects directly to the safety and reliability of products used by children and families every day. A day on the job looks like this: Own the end-to-end product test plan for assigned categories — toys, plastics, and soft goods — from new product development baselines through final performance validation Analyze test results against defined requirements and deliver clear, concise summaries that give cross-functional teams the insight they need to make sound product decisions Identify and apply relevant ASTM and industry standards for raw materials and finished goods, building and maintaining a library of test methods that ensures consistency across in-house and third-party lab testing Partner with RD&D and Global Sourcing to align product design with performance requirements, presenting test plans and results in terms that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences Collaborate with the in-house lab manager to assess testing capabilities and coordinate with third-party labs to close gaps Share expertise with RD&D partners on applicable testing standards, helping the broader team make better-informed design decisions earlier in development Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for: Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related technical field 5+ years of experience in product engineering, quality engineering, or a closely related discipline Solid working knowledge of ASTM and other relevant industry testing standards, with the ability to select the right standard for each application Experience developing or executing test plans for consumer products, including coordination with third-party testing laboratories Comfortable with data analysis and building clear, audience-ready reports — proficiency in MS Office required Able to work onsite at our Carson, CA headquarters on a hybrid schedule Preferred: Familiarity with regulatory requirements for children's products (toys, soft goods, or similar categories) Experience with global manufacturing environments and raw material processing Background working cross-functionally with product development or design teams in a consumer goods setting What sets you apart: You translate dense test data into a clear story — adjusting your depth and language for the room, whether that's an engineer or an executive You spot gaps in a testing approach before they become problems, and you're proactive about raising them with the right people You take real ownership: when a process is inconsistent or a standard is missing, you build the solution rather than work around it You bring a collaborative mindset to cross-functional work — you know that good quality outcomes depend on alignment, not just expertise And here’s our end of the bargain! At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties. For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at a salary rate between $98,000-$130,000 depending on relevant experience & skillset. This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset. Bonus eligible Paid leave for new parents to support work/life balance and family bonding Excellent medical/dental and vision coverage—EPO, PPO and HSA 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution (because you will retire someday) Flexible benefits—choose what you like, ignore the rest On-site preschool for our employees’ children On-site employee gym for all levels/fitness needs Generous employee discount Casual dress…and we really mean it At Lakeshore, we know our diversity makes us stronger, and when everyone feels included and valued, we all win. We strive to embrace our differences and create an intentionally diverse and inclusive community that is representative of the teachers, families and children we serve. We know we couldn’t do the extraordinary things we’re doing without the people on our team. Thanks to the passion and enthusiasm of this spectacular group, Lakeshore is more than a great place to work—it’s a great experience to be part of. Day in and day out, we give everything we’ve got to create products that instill a sense of wonder and foster a true love of learning. To help maintain this high bar for success, we’re constantly on the lookout for people to join us. So if you’re a down-to-earth professional who shares our desire for making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
