Location – MVHE Hubs: Amsterdam, Netherlands | Madrid, Spain |Munich, Germany (Preferred) |Solihull, UK

Employment Type – Permanent

Why join us?

  • Shape the future of a major international veterinary estate – help develop and deliver the Real Estate Strategy across a rapidly growing network of veterinary clinics and hospitals.

  • Own a high-impact property portfolio – develop and implement asset management strategies that inform decisions to retain, invest, expand, relocate or divest sites, balancing commercial value with operational needs.

  • Be a trusted property expert and lead complex commercial property matters – provide senior property advice on lease strategy, negotiations, property due diligence and portfolio growth, protecting the business from contractual and financial risks.

  • Work internationally and collaboratively – influence senior stakeholders and build strong cross-functional partnerships across multiple markets to deliver commercial and operational objectives.

  • Lead people and drive transformation – manage and develop a team of Estate Managers while strengthening property governance, policies, processes and reporting.

The team

You’ll join the Global Real Estate, Facilities & Management (REFM) team and report directly to the Director of Real Estate. You’ll lead a team of five Estate Managers, providing direction, coaching and clear accountability for portfolio management and delivery across the relevant European markets.

You’ll work closely with senior business leaders and colleagues across Real Estate, Construction, Finance, Legal, Operations and other corporate functions, as well as landlords, solicitors, consultants and other external partners. You’ll combine regional portfolio oversight with hands-on commercial judgement, helping ensure real estate decisions support clinical operations, business growth and financial performance.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in corporate real estate, property portfolio management, commercial asset management or estates management within a multi-site organisation. Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience, with meaningful responsibility across multiple European countries.

  • Strong property portfolio and asset management expertise, with the ability to develop and implement commercially sound strategies that support growth, investment, optimisation, relocation and disposal decisions.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience evaluating property options, developing business cases and translating financial and operational data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

  • Proven hands-on experience managing complex landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals, new leases, regears, variations and surrenders, with a track record of managing risk and achieving commercial value.

  • Experience supporting business acquisitions and growth programmes, including property due diligence, securing appropriate property terms and advising stakeholders on property-related decisions.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills, with the confidence to provide clear advice, present complex information and influence decisions at all levels.

  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, navigate complexity and deliver results.

  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing, coaching and developing a team of professionals. Able to delegate effectively, set priorities and performance expectations, and build capability while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

  • Experience managing external property consultants and professional fee budgets, with the ability to build internal capability and optimise the use to external advisers over time.

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required by the role.

Desirable experience

  • Experience in a large, decentralised or acquisitive organisation—such as retail, logistics, healthcare, consumer services or another multi-site occupier—is desirable. Veterinary-sector experience is not essential.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • International and collaborative working environment.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth within Mars Petcare.

  • Opportunities to represent MVHE within leading real estate industry networks and participate in industry conferences, events and knowledge-sharing forums.

  • Purpose-driven organisation committed to creating a Better World for Pets.

  • Pet-friendly offices where your four-legged companions are welcome depending on the location
