The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Reporting Specialist to lead and coordinate regulatory reporting activities, reporting data validation, regulatory interpretation, submission preparation, reconciliation, and reporting-control improvements.
The ideal candidate will combine strong regulatory reporting expertise with financial analysis, data governance, and technical reporting capabilities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, strengthen reporting accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support regulatory examinations and audits.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and implement regulatory reporting procedures, standards, controls, and reporting calendars.
- Coordinate the preparation, review, validation, and submission of regulatory reports in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Interpret regulatory reporting instructions, templates, definitions, data specifications, and submission deadlines.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on reporting processes, systems, data, and controls.
- Translate regulatory changes into updated reporting procedures, data requirements, validation rules, and implementation plans.
- Prepare periodic, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc regulatory submissions as required.
- Coordinate reporting requirements across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and other relevant functions.
- Collect and consolidate data from general ledgers, subledgers, operational platforms, risk systems, treasury systems, and other approved sources.
- Validate regulatory reporting data for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with prescribed definitions.
- Reconcile regulatory reports against general ledger balances, management accounts, financial statements, source systems, and supporting schedules.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies, unexplained movements, inconsistent balances, and missing data.
- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions for recurring reporting issues.
- Ensure appropriate treatment of reporting adjustments, reclassifications, estimates, and other permitted adjustments.
- Maintain clear documentation supporting reported figures, calculations, classifications, assumptions, and judgments.
- Review regulatory reporting calculations, aggregation logic, mappings, and transformation rules.
- Ensure reporting methodologies are consistently applied across reporting periods, business units, legal entities, and jurisdictions.
- Support the preparation of prudential, financial, statistical, liquidity, capital, exposure, and other regulatory returns relevant to the organization.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements related to assets, liabilities, income, expenses, capital, liquidity, credit exposures, funding, and risk concentrations where applicable.
- Support reporting requirements relating to customer activity, transactions, products, counterparties, and operational exposures where relevant.
- Review regulatory templates and ensure all required fields, classifications, schedules, and supporting disclosures are completed.
- Perform reasonableness checks and analytical reviews to identify unusual movements or unexpected reporting outcomes.
- Compare current-period results with prior periods, budgets, forecasts, and other relevant financial or operational information.
- Investigate significant variances and prepare clear explanations for management and regulatory review.
- Establish and maintain reporting checklists, control matrices, review logs, approval records, and evidence repositories.
- Implement maker-checker controls, independent review procedures, reconciliations, and approval workflows.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and access controls within regulatory reporting processes.
- Maintain a controlled reporting calendar covering data collection, preparation, review, approval, submission, and post-submission activities.
- Monitor reporting deadlines and coordinate timely delivery of inputs from internal stakeholders.
- Manage reporting dependencies, submission risks, outstanding queries, and potential delays.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities on reporting queries, clarifications, resubmissions, and other reporting-related matters where authorized.
- Respond to regulatory requests for supporting schedules, explanations, reconciliations, and additional information.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, external audits, and compliance reviews.
- Prepare audit-ready documentation demonstrating reporting accuracy, compliance, review, and approval.
- Track audit findings, regulatory observations, reporting deficiencies, and remediation commitments through closure.
- Maintain reporting issue logs and ensure corrective actions are implemented and validated.
- Assess the impact of new products, business activities, acquisitions, legal-entity changes, and system implementations on reporting obligations.
- Coordinate with Legal Entity Management, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to maintain accurate reporting entity information.
- Support the development and maintenance of regulatory reporting data dictionaries, mappings, business rules, and definitions.
- Maintain appropriate data lineage from source systems through transformation, aggregation, validation, and final submission.
- Work with Data and Technology teams to resolve data-quality issues and improve reporting-system reliability.
- Support regulatory reporting system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
- Participate in requirements gathering, functional specifications, system configuration, user acceptance testing, and implementation validation.
- Test reporting calculations, data mappings, automated controls, and submission outputs before deployment.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activities, reconciliations, validation checks, and management reporting.
- Develop reporting dashboards and monitoring tools to track submission status, exceptions, data quality, and control performance.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, prudential reporting, regulatory compliance, financial control, or reporting data management, preferably within banking, financial services, insurance, payments, investment management, or another regulated industry.
The candidate should demonstrate:
