About the role:

We're looking for a Senior Reporting Accountant to join Drax on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the delivery of our external reporting obligations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a complex, global business and gain exposure to high-profile financial reporting activities.

Reporting into the Head of External Reporting, you'll play a key role in the preparation of the Group Annual Report and Accounts, Half Year Results and statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.

You’ll play a key role in providing technical accounting expertise across a range of complex business activities and lead accounting analysis for significant transactions, preparing clear and insightful papers for senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.

Working closely with external auditors, you'll support the year-end and interim audit processes, helping to resolve queries efficiently and ensuring successful audit outcomes.

You'll also be responsible for ensuring all statutory and regulatory filings are delivered accurately and on time, while keeping abreast of changes in accounting standards and implementing new requirements across the business. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a complex, listed organisation while working with stakeholders across the UK and North America.

Who we’re looking for:

We're seeking a technically strong, qualified accountant who enjoys solving complex accounting issues and delivering high-quality financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

You'll ideally:

· Be a fully qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.

· Have experience in external financial reporting and statutory account preparation within a large corporate or listed environment.

· Have the ability to interpret complex accounting issues and communicate clearly to senior stakeholders.

· Have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

You may currently be working as a Reporting Accountant, Group Accountant, Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, Audit Manager or External Reporting Manager and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience within a large, complex organisation.
