The Role

As Sharon AI continues to grow, we’re looking for a talented Senior R&D Engineer to join our R&D Engineering team, reporting to our R&D Engineering Team Lead.

You’ll lead complex engineering initiatives from early experimentation through to production-ready delivery, building services, integrations, plugins and technical demonstrations that extend our AI Factories and AI Clouds. You’ll work closely with Product, Platform, Infrastructure and customer-facing teams, with exposure to cutting-edge technology at the forefront of AI infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design and delivery of services that extend Sharon AI’s AI Factories and AI Clouds
• Design and build integrations and plugins across third-party tools, frameworks and customer environments
• Develop technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts and MVPs to validate new ideas and showcase platform capabilities
• Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks and architectural approaches
• Own technical architecture and engineering decisions for assigned initiatives
• Maintain high standards across code quality, testing, security, observability and maintainability
• Partner with Product, Platform, Infrastructure and Go-to-Market teams to turn business objectives into technical solutions
• Improve development practices, tooling, automation and engineering efficiency
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers through reviews, pair programming and coaching

What We’re Looking For

• 6–8+ years’ software engineering experience in product, platform or R&D-focused environments
• Strong backend development experience using Python, Go or similar, with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Ansible or Terraform
• Deep experience with APIs, integrations, distributed systems and scalable service architectures
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail
• A genuine interest in AI, technology and what Sharon AI is building

Nice to have:

• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, GPU cloud platforms or model-serving frameworks
• Kubernetes, container orchestration and cloud-native infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, open-source projects or technical communities
