About the opportunity

Join Australia Post’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing team in a dynamic, purpose-led role supporting our Customer Success function. As a Senior Safety Specialist, you'll partner closely with leaders and teams working in elevated-risk environments to drive meaningful improvements in safety culture and wellbeing outcomes. Reporting into the Health, Safety & Wellbeing function, you'll deliver strategic, data-driven initiatives, coach leaders, and embed practical solutions that enhance both physical and psychological safety. This is an exciting opportunity to influence transformational change, strengthen leadership capability, and help create a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.

You’ll also

• Diagnose safety and wellbeing risks using incident data, workforce insights, risk assessments and operational metrics.
• Design and implement targeted safety and wellbeing initiatives that improve physical, psychological and psychosocial safety outcomes.
• Coach and influence leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability and embed a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
• Monitor investigation outcomes, track improvement programs and ensure a consistent approach to safety governance and compliance.
• Partner with operational leaders and working groups to identify continuous improvement opportunities and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose safety solutions.

About you

You're a collaborative and influential safety professional who thrives on building trusted relationships and driving meaningful change. You bring a pragmatic, data-driven approach to safety, can confidently challenge the status quo, and have a proven ability to coach leaders and influence outcomes across complex stakeholder environments. You’re equally comfortable working autonomously and partnering with senior leaders to foster a culture where safety and wellbeing are everyone's responsibility.

You’ll also need

• Significant experience in a senior safety management or business partnering role within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of physical, psychological and psychosocial safety, including the interpretation and application of safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing safety improvement or organisational change initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence and coach senior leaders, driving accountability and positive safety outcomes across multiple locations.
• Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, with additional business-related qualifications highly regarded.
