The Senior Sales Engineer is the most senior technical pre-sales resource in the global Sales Engineer team, serving as the subject matter expert across the full RMS solutions suite. This role owns the most complex and strategically significant sales opportunities while simultaneously elevating the capability and consistency of the entire SE function. The Senior Sales Engineer sets the standard for how pre-sales is executed at RMS — from demo quality and RFP methodology to internal tooling and templates. Beyond personal deal contribution, this role actively coaches and mentors Sales Engineers, identifies and closes process gaps, and ensures the team operates to a consistently high bar. Personal contribution to deal win rates on complex and strategically significant opportunities. Measurable improvement in the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the pre-sales function. A well-maintained, current SE asset and content library that is actively used by the team. Positive feedback from Sales Engineers, Sales leadership, and prospective customers on technical pre-sales quality. Demonstrable uplift in SE team capability through coaching, training, and mentoring. Timely, accurate, and professional completion of high-priority RFP and tender responses. Adoption of improved processes and standardised best practices across the global SE team Significant experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solution consulting role within a SaaS or technology company, including demonstrated progression to a senior or lead level. Proven ability to deliver and lead complex, high-stakes solution demonstrations and technical proposals. Demonstrated experience building or improving pre-sales processes, tools, or content libraries. Experience coaching, mentoring, or informally leading peers in a technical pre-sales or solutions context. Strong technical understanding of SaaS products, APIs, integrations, and cloud architecture. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders. Experience supporting high-value RFPs, proposals, and tenders with strong attention to detail and quality. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across Sales, Product, and Technical teams. Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to produce meaningful better and faster presales work including critically evaluating AI outputs and applying appropriate judgement about data sensitivity and accuracy. Desirable: Background in hospitality technology, property management systems, or payments platforms. Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements (e.g. PCI DSS, GDPR). Knowledge of HubSpot or other CRM systems. Experience working within a globally distributed team. Pre-Sales & Demonstrations: Take ownership of the most complex, high-value, and strategically significant sales opportunities, partnering closely with Senior Account Executives and Sales leadership. Deliver compelling, technically rigorous presentations and demonstrations that set the benchmark for SE quality across the team. Prepare and present solution architectures that align with customer needs, system integrations, and scalability requirements. Review and quality-assure demonstrations prepared by other Sales Engineers, providing constructive coaching and feedback. Partner with sales enablement to create training content and ensure effective knowledge transfer on product releases across the sales team. Proposal & RFP Support: Lead the technical response to the most complex and high-priority RFP, RFQ, and tender submissions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness. Own the RFP content library strategy — maintaining, improving, and expanding the library of reusable technical and security-related content. Establish and enforce quality standards for all RFP responses, reviewing submissions from the broader SE team where required. Collaborate with Product, Implementation, Security, and Legal to ensure solution responses are accurate, differentiated, and commercially sound. Create and maintain video content for Storylane and Seismic platforms. Technical Expertise & Enablement: Serve as the team's deepest technical resource on the RMS product suite, integrations, and the broader hospitality technology ecosystem (e.g. PMS, POS, payment gateways, channel managers, CRMs). Develop and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date demo databases; define and uphold standards for demo configuration across verticals. Proactively identify knowledge gaps within the SE team and design targeted enablement to address them. Deliver internal training sessions on product releases, technical updates, and competitive intelligence. Act as the escalation point for technically complex client questions or scenarios. Leverage AI tools to accelerate and improve pre-sales outputs including RFP responses, demo scripting and content creation, criticically evaluating outputs before use and embedding AI-first practices across team workflows. Process Improvement & Standards: Own the continuous improvement of pre-sales methodology, tooling, templates, and processes to increase team efficiency and consistency. Build and maintain a scalable library of SE assets — including demo scripts, objection-handling guides, integration FAQs, and proposal templates. Document and standardise SE best practices, ensuring they are accessible and actively adopted across the global team. Identify and implement improvements to demo environments, pre-sales workflows, and enablement platforms such as Seismic and Storylane. Team Coaching & Collaboration: Mentor and coach Sales Engineers, sharing expertise and providing structured feedback to build individual and team capability. Support junior SEs through deal reviews, helping them develop their approach to complex and high-stakes opportunities. Partner with Product and Engineering to channel market and prospect feedback into the product roadmap. Participate in sales and strategy meetings, representing the SE function and contributing to pipeline and deal strategy. Collaborate with Sales leadership to align SE priorities and capacity with the commercial pipeline. Why RMS?
