Role Type - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
Across government, digital services are transforming how organisations deliver for citizens. At Ofgem, we're using technology to help drive the transition to a Net Zero energy system, protect consumers, and support one of the most significant societal and economic challenges of our time.
We're looking for a Senior Salesforce Architect to play a key role in shaping and assuring the Salesforce architecture that underpins our digital services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Ofgem's Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate and help design secure, scalable and user-centred solutions that support critical regulatory and operational services. You'll work across a complex technology landscape spanning Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Public Sector Solutions and the wider Salesforce Platform, ensuring solutions align to both business needs and strategic architectural principles.
As a senior member of our architecture community, you'll provide technical leadership, guide delivery teams, influence architectural decisions, and help define the standards and patterns that enable successful delivery across multiple programmes.
What you'll do
As a Senior Salesforce Architect, you will:
- Lead the design and documentation of Salesforce solutions across multiple programmes and delivery teams.
- Provide technical assurance to ensure solutions meet architectural, security and operational standards.
- Design scalable and secure integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms using modern integration patterns and APIs.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Developers and Technical Leads to guide technical decision-making and resolve complex design challenges.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities, ensuring informed decision-making across projects.
- Support the development and maturity of Ofgem's Salesforce Centre of Excellence, promoting best practice, reusable design patterns and architectural consistency.
- Mentor and support engineers and architects, helping to build capability across the organisation.
- Contribute to architecture governance, standards development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
We're looking for an experienced Salesforce technical architect with a strong track record of designing and assuring complex Salesforce solutions within large-scale enterprise environments.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrable experience designing and leading Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds and business domains.
- Strong knowledge of the Salesforce Platform, including Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and Public Sector Solutions.
- Experience designing integration solutions using APIs, middleware and enterprise integration patterns.
- The ability to create and maintain architectural artefacts using modelling tools and frameworks such as Archi, ArchiMate, UML or equivalent.
- Experience applying secure-by-design principles, data governance requirements and security controls within Salesforce implementations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience influencing technical direction and supporting delivery teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Desirable experience
It would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience working within government or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and architectural assurance processes.
- Experience contributing to architecture communities of practice or Centres of Excellence.
Qualifications
You must hold, or be willing to obtain within six months of appointment:
- A formal architecture qualification such as BCS Enterprise Architecture Certification or an equivalent qualification.
Why Ofgem?

Whatever your role, you'll help shape the future of energy regulation and support the UK's journey to Net Zero.
Security Clearance: Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
