The Opportunity
VistaVu is seeking a seasoned Consultant to join our dynamic S/4Hana Cloud Public Team as an SAP S4 MM Consultant. This opportunity is worth considering if you are looking for a rapidly growing business and an exciting workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and delivering ERP solutions that meet client business requirements using standard SAP best practices. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and the SAP system, this role analyzes the client’s processes and translates them into system configurations or functional specifications, emphasizing fit-to-standard processes to minimize customizations. The Senior Consultant ensures the implemented S/4HANA Cloud solution is effective, efficient, and aligned with business needs through proper configuration, testing, and user training. Ultimately, this role helps clients optimize their processes in S/4HANA Cloud while adhering to SAP’s clean core principles for maintainability and upgradability.
This is a remote role based in the United States with preference for a resident of Texas. Because of client requirements U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What will you be doing?
- Business Process Guidance & Fit-to-Standard Analysis: Collaborate with clients during the Explore phase to understand business processes, identify gaps with SAP S/4HANA Cloud standards, and recommend in-scope solutions within a line of business. Advise on process improvements using standard SAP options, document current vs. future processes, and perform gap analysis against best practices.
- Solution Configuration & Realization: Configure S/4HANA Cloud via SAP Central Business Configuration and in-app settings to fulfil approved business needs across modules such as Finance, Procurement, and Sales, following SAP standards. Conduct unit testing to confirm system behavior meets requirements, and refine configurations as needed from test results and client feedback, ensuring a clean core with minimal custom code.
- Functional Specification & Documentation: Convert business requirements for system enhancements (FRICEW objects) into functional specification documents for technical teams. Clearly outline any custom development or integration needs and verify that technical designs align with functional goals. Maintain updated configuration workbooks, process flows, and decision logs. Secure stakeholder approval on design documents before development begins.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Create and execute test plans for functional and integration testing. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve defects or misconfigurations, ensuring all business processes are covered in System Integration Testing (SIT). Support clients during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and address issues promptly to meet requirements and quality standards.
- User Training & Knowledge Transfer: Develop targeted training materials and documentation for the client’s processes. Lead user training to ensure effective use of S/4HANA Cloud and transfer knowledge to Business Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts. Support users’ understanding and self-sufficiency by addressing their questions and clarifying system workflows.
- Cutover Planning & Go-Live Support: Participate in cutover planning to ensure all configuration, data loading, and validation are completed for a successful production launch. During go-live, provide support to quickly address functional issues, verify system transactions, and build user confidence. After go-live, monitor system usage, resolve defects, and maintain solution stability during the hypercare period.
- Client Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Technical Consultants to deliver projects. Proactively communicate progress and risks, adapting solutions as business needs change. Maintain client feedback loops to identify enhancements achievable via SAP updates or minor configurations. Support quarterly release management by assessing and enabling relevant new S/4HANA Cloud features to maximize system value.
